In their response to my appeal which I received Friday 9/1/14, they said they had sent it in a separate letter.
  • If they wrote to you rejecting your appeal - why would they send the POPLA code under separate cover? something fishy here......

They have been known to backdate a code before now.

Hang on, did their rejection letter have the POPLA verification code (10 digits)? If so then you don't need a form as well as you can use the code online.

Please double check the BACK of the rejection letter and any refs, are they 10 numbers with a 4 as the seventh number? You MUST NOT wait and wonder, your POPLA code time is ticking from the day they generated it and we've had several posters not notice they actually have the code on the back or top of the letter - or hidden in a jumble of a paragraph - all along.

Double double checked and there's no code.

At the bottom of the letter it says 'Please be advised a letter has been sent separately to this one wit a POPLA form attached'

this could be a delaying tactic, I would complain to the BPA as the rejection should have had the popla code in with it, as per their newsletter and CoP

I simply don't believe them and it's totally unnecessary for it to have been in a separate letter. Far too suspicious, sharp practice. UKPC have lied before, recently:

    http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/ukpc-and-time-travelling-popla-code.html

Complain by email to Steve Clark of the BPA immediately. If they have generated a POPLA code it's still useable and they will have to show you a copy of it and you can check the date it was generated! Maybe it will be another time-travelling POPLA code, amazingly generated after the BPA investigate...

Email addy for Mr Clark is in the 'Newbies' sticky thread under 'complaints'.

post #108 gives an interesting and new slant on this from the DVLA , it seems that it may be a code breach

Very interesting! Looks like they've broken the Code of Practise by not including my POPLA code?

I've emailed the BPA, I may also now email the DVLA.
  • Don't expect any sanction points to be issued though.....

OK I've had a reply back from the BPA, they've contacted UKPC and they insist they sent a letter out with the POPLA code on 9 January. I have now received the letter as a PDF via the BPA.

Within the letter it says I stayed over the 5 minute grace period agreed with the client, I was 37 seconds over the grace period
