No disability here. DP works a lot of shifts, he just gets rubbish pay.

he cant be full time tho , on that rate of take home pay it would be below the minimum wage

Can you get a part time job?

  • My partner works the late shift at a hotel. He gets whatever they give him, starting at 5pm/ 6pm finishing between 12am and 3am. Works 6 days a week.

He did work 2 days a week on his gardening which bought in an extra £200 a week. However cant get there now so not sure what will happen with that.

Any chance you could find employment somewhere to do a morning shift?

Also, in response to you saying:

"I realize that my SOA is an awful one. So much money we spend. I put it up because I want to change this desperately & turn it all around."

Don't apologise, hun. The fact that you're taking action is hugely positive. We all (well, outside of MSErs!) spend money on things we don't really need. You've recognised that this is a problem, and you're addressing it. That takes a lot of guts.

  • Is there anything I could do from home? Or with my little one with me?

Try the Up Your Income board. Home-based work is pretty hard to find, but not impossible. You may have to be a bit creative.

You could take in ironing for people, for example? Are you handy witha needle and thread - could you do repairs/alterations? Do you have any skills you could use, e.g. translation, music lessons?

Perhaps look into becoming qualified as a childminder? (Although that would be more long term)

thats anywhere between 36 and 60 hrs a week

the minimum wage is £6.31 / week , so that should be gross

    £984.36 - £1640.6 per month

so even on the minimum hours he should be taking home more a month then in your soa

do you know his hourly rate ?

There are zero rated contracts , which means there are no minimum hours , the OP does say however he works 6 days a week

  • OK, so he's on a 9 hour contract, but took the job as they said it would be 6 days a week usually. This has been the case so far, but from what every one is saying, it seems something is not adding up.
