My daughter cancelled her Orange contract, giving the required 30 days notice and signed up with giffgaff as the family are now all on giffgaff so we can speak to each other for free.
On Saturday she found that Orange had taken another payment and when she queried this they told her she HAD cancelled, then cancelled the cancellation!!!!!
What utter tripe!!!!
Who do we contact to dispute this.
It is absolutely ridiculous.

Would appreciate some advice on this please.

Regards

Any chance she had got a PAC and hadn't used it?

She did not undo the cancellation!
She signed up with giffgaff before the Orange contract ended so she could use it straight away once the 30 days were up.

    Thank you.
No she didn't transfer her number, she went with the new number from giffgaff.
She phoned Orange 30 days before the contract was due to end and told them that she didn't want to continue at the end of the contract and was giving them the required 30 days notice.

This doesn't answer the question I asked.
Had she got the PAC or not?

Sorry, no didn't get the PAC
Didn't request PAC as she didn't want to transfer her number.

Did she call Orange again after the cancellation request for anything else that they might have 'misunderstood' ??
  • If they say that she cancelled the cancellation ask for the date and time of the call requesting this, and a copy of the recording.

Did she not cancel the DD after she received what she believed to be her final bill? No one else can do that for her.

When I cancelled an Orange contract I got the date for cancellation wrong so they ended up taking the next month's payment and then sending me a cheque to refund me for the unused days after the correct cancellation date. Could it be something like that?
