    Hardly ever in the summer, I just wait until it rains.

    I go to the hand wash places in winter due to the salt etc on the roads. Not entirely sure why...someone must have told me what the salt does but don't remember, just that it's not good.

    The inside, probably twice a year, but have covers on everything so the actual seats don't see daylight and will be immaculate underneath all the rubbish.

    My old car had some kind of plant growing out of the inside of the door, and a resident spider (a small spider).
    Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
  • I tend to wash my car about once every month, dependant on if it needs it. I must admit, however, I'm pretty lazy and tend to try and find a carwash in a carpark when I'm out shopping;

    I actually started https://www.getcarclean.com - a directory for carwashes - including jet wash ones you can use yourself etc...

    Would appreciate some feedback on it if anyone has time!

    Probably about once a month.

    Have a pressure washer system and it does work well but when it's cold outside I go to those hand cash wash places. They charge £6.00 and do a good job then all I have to do is vac it out when I get home!

    not washed current (new to me) car in the 3 months i had it. old car washes about 4 years ago when the back was pelted with eggs (it was frozen as it was a winters evening and by the time i had run the heating had run egg was cooked) i had to take it to my parents (after scraping scrambled egg off) as i dont have a hosepipe. did the whole car as i had the opertunity. before that i took the car to the carwash before a holiday about 9 years ago and then lo st it in tescos car park as it was so bright and shiney i walked past it... ok not as often as i should.

    that was over a year ago - and she still has not been washed!! although does not look too dirty. but while this car is not that posh, it is the poshest i have ever had - and as a result i keep the clutter out of the car and boot. this is the most clutter free car i have ever had.

  • I wonder how much mud on car affects miles per gallon?? Seriously folks - the law says that number plates MUST be visible and windscreens viewable through. I used to be sooooo good - last weekend of the month - car wash/ check oil/check water/check screen wash/ check lights/ check tyres. But I have got a bit slack recently - however, I have a young friend who is often out of work and pay him the £10 as he really needs it (Job agencies are not always reliable).

    I've thought the same thing before -
    They keep airliners clean to improve efficiency, so I guess the same could be true for cars (albeit on a smaller scale!!)
