I think time off over Christmas depends on a lot of factors.

    Are you self employed
    Are you in retail
Are you in hospital/emergency services/police etc.
    Are you in call centre

    And so on.

I am finished on Friday the 13th...aaaagh!

And back on Monday the 6th January. Yes....three weeks.

I save up my annual leave for it all year, and do with a day here and there during the year.

I am so fortunate. I know that. And I don't go away or anything, just like to see my house that I have paid hard for, and vegetate.

    It does me good anyway.

    Each to their own.

No idea for me, i'm a carer and nothing is set in stone yet. I will be getting new year off to return home, the perk of a 0 hour contract i guess!
  • At my office we have a skeleton team in over Christmas so the bare minimum to do the admin/finance over the three banking days, of which I'm working one. Our other offices are closed from the 24th to the 2nd.

I'm lucky, I get from 23rd to 2nd off which is in addition to our annual leave (plus Friday 20th is our Christmas do - so no actual work!). But my poor other half will only have Christmas day off (and will be working up until 5am on Christmas Eve night into Christmas day!!)

I got lucky this year and off from the 24th until the 27th, this is the first time in four years my shifts have worked round that my off shifts have fallen over Christmas.

Rotas aren't up yet but I'm guessing it'll be off Christmas Day & New Years Day as we're closed, but the rest of it I'll be working, I'm good with that to be honest. It's retail & someone's gotta do it, might as well be me getting paid for it!

I finish on 20th Dec and not back until 20th Jan, with a quick trip to Aus, NZ and HK in between :)
