It's amazing what music can do. I spring cleaned my kitchen yesterday to Rudimental.

    That's brilliant, Nikki.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I just noticed the bit to the side as well as the bed. Crikey, you did get on with it yesterday Nikks. What do you plan to plant in the bed?

Nik, that's some seriously hard work you've put in there - nice one!

PN, you don't need to feel unsafe, if the LL knocks, you don't have to answer, it's not a royal command.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

I think the knock itself would still be intrusive and upsetting and unsafe-feeling to PN, even if she didn't answer it. It's difficult because there are many things that LLs assume that she should either (a) not mind or (b) feel able to say "no" to, but she does mind and she doesn't feel able to object. I certainly wouldn't want LLs dropping round and wanting to come in without giving me warning, but I would be able to tell them (after the first time) that I would prefer to be given notice. OTOH if I were a smoker, I wouldn't let a LL in a shed at the bottom of next door's garden put me off smoking in my own garden if I wanted to.

Oh, and Nikkster - huge well done on the gardening. :T I was duly impressed by the pic when reading this morning, but was on my phone, so it was just too much hassle to try to type a reply!

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Random question. If the Queen did knock, would I have to answer?
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Pregnancy doesn't go wrong often, now, fortunately - we're all very lucky to live in a world where good ante-natal and maternity care alleviates almost all the risks. Very lucky indeed.

Honestly, there weren't any gory details (-:

    Thank you Semmelweiss :)

No. This country isn't an absolute monarchy.

PN - sorry to hear your feeling like your space is under constant threat of attack. I know it's easier said than done, but it is your space to live your life in more or less as you please - that's what you're paying for. Hope you're managing to find some time to keep an eye out for houses...

Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone! I've just cheated and filled another 1/3 of the bin with grass cuttings :D
