A lot of the moves happened over the summer holidays, and therefore close to my birthday, making a lot of the ages quite tidy to list.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I wonder how many places the NP have lived. Only count places you've lived in for at least 3 months. For me:
As a kid (17 years) - 1 house (plus two temporary overseas ones for 6 months each but with the permanent one to go back to in the UK)
As a full time student/gap year person (7 years) - 5 student-type rooms while single plus one married flat
As a proper adult (20.5 years so far) - 6 houses (4 rented, 1 tied, 1 owned)
0-18 - 1 house although I did move out for a couple of months (so not the minimum 3 months as stated) when I was 16.
As an adult (no student times for me) 18-43 (nearly 44) - 4 (1 owned, the rest rented). Lived in the current house almost 16 years.
Edit - redo mine like the others....
1 - 0-18
2 - 18 -20 (huge flat - rented)
3. 20-24 (owned house)
4. 24-28 (rented house)
5. 28- now (rented house)We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Shocking news.
Apparently a third of school leavers aren't literate, a further half aren't able to understand basic scientific principles and the remaining 40% can't add up.
I took the Generalissimos to the library this afternoon and they played chess. It was lots of fun for us all. We're having beef casserole with roast spuds and yorkies for dinner tonight because the weather forecast was 20C and rainy. It's more like 28C and sunny instead but it's too late to change now.
I've moved too many times to list. I guestimate I've lived in 40 places.0 -

This was much my thought.
Also, people don't pack/ move for you if your are somewhere two months rather than three! Because as a kid apart from a coupl
E of stints almost every year was a different place for dad's work one gets adapted to making connections fairly quickly. Since marrying DH and I had a period of time where no sooner were we settled we were on the move again. When we moved here huge part of me felt I never wanted to move again....( DH doesn't want to) but I have since realised you still move STUFF all the time if you live in a project.. To day we have to move a dresser down stairs for heating engineers tomorrow, and also try to clear the back landing ( which has become a repository for junk) much of this will have to find temporary space in our bedroom,
We want to be finished today in time to watch crufts final especially as there is a big dog in it.0 -
Today I woke up quite early for a Sunday... I've just watched gardeners world on catch up
I did have Gilles Peterson accompanying me in the garden yesterday (hopefully not loud enough to annoy the neighbors), but this is definitely a lifestyle change!0 -

Started watching GW yesterday which I had recorded but something went wrong with my recorder and while whatsername was talking about crocuses and the sound went . Good idea - will catch up on-line.
Off to see my brother and his partner this afternoon, they both have the same name which does cause confusion sometimes.
Mr BD off for a run - he's got a half marathon to prepare for. He's driving me mad atm - answering questions with what is in his mind rather than just giving the info requested. Eg:
Me: Is that that an interesting programme this week? (he was watching The Restaurant Man)
Mr BD: It's the last one in the series
Me: Have you been putting damp washing in the washing basket?
Mr BD: I take the clothes off and put them in the basket
Agghhhhh.........It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Ha, me too. Prior to that I hung out in the jazz room at Caister, listening to the likes of Art Blakey, Miles Davis, and Lambert Hendricks and Ross. Plus of course a lot of jazz funk as was common at the time. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
