I've also taken a video of me opening the message - and the image - and uploaded that to Youtube with your full contact details, and then Facebooked it under the tags #sexpest #pervert and #stalker
And now I'm off to discussion time and netmums to draw their attention to it, so it can go viral and end up in the papers, on the news.0 -
As I've said before, I still don't understand why they build new builds that aren't raised off the ground (if at risk from flooding). In most cases, these houses would only need to be a further 3-5 feet off the ground in order to stop water ingress. So they could either build the house on a higher plinth or on stilts. I just don't get it. I wonder if our obsession in only lending on traditional construction styles is part to blame.
I know that BRE in Garston (Watford) is busy designing flood defences for houses, but if you build the house above the flood level, surely that's better to start with? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? How did you guess my name
I think it is the iPad infilling to make up a word... I also recall you mentioning an event in 2012 as well...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Obviously it is because you are a Nice Man.Or a sweet pea
It was a bit of a shock, though someone had accidentally said something that had made me wonder.
It is a lovely thought. I hope I don't have to make a speech though! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

It's King Canute holding back the tide.
It's actually a facebook post from the Old Rectifying house, a pub on the riverfront in Worcester telling us they were still open yesterday. (Note the water seeping across the ground) Unfortunately posted about an hour before the inevitable happened. But how wonderful to have a sense of humour. I shall certainly spend some money there when it opens. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I think the government etc have made a rod for their own back with this blame saga:The UK Statistics Authority has criticised the Treasury over a chart it produced showing the scale of investment in infrastructure.
The authority said the chart could give a "false impression" of the relative size of investment in areas such as flood defences.
In 2012, the statistics watchdog corrected David Cameron over a claim that NHS spending had risen in real terms, while last year it said the Prime Minister was wrong to say the government was paying down Britain's debts.
Had they not given a false representation in the first place, there would be less of a blame game imo. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Alain de Bottons new book arrived at the weekend.
Timely, as I need to start a new book.
I have 2 long train journeys on wednesday, so need to pick something I can take with me... Not sure if de Botton will be that yet. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I just made fir eggs benedict for lunch and caught the dirty blighter trying to eat it with his hands.
Btw, should have said, main flood areas here are down today. I turned the horses out onto grass today to flick there heels up. We're lucky to have such a large grass less turn out area so they aren't too confined, but today seems a good chance to let them eat grass, roll, and flick heels before rain starts in earnest again tonight.
Its lightly drizzling this morning, but not 'rain'
Edit:
We've also sent an email to clients and their associates who gather here for collection of wet weather gear and the other items asked for like socks for the flood victims. As I say, its not that I am without sympathy.
I'm certainly glad we've moved. Before we moved the house was on a hill on the other side of a big stream fom the horses, At least once a year I was cut off from them and had to ask a farmer next door or the field owner to check and feed them for me.
While out we passed a few flood signs next to ice signs and realised how nasty roads stand to get, Its MUCH colder (though not yet freezing) today here. But the sheets of water covering a lot of our roads while absolutely passable as water would be impassable as ice, and unsustainable to grit I think, because the water will flow off with and melt back on. We have to grit our yard and have this problem and have to leave two ice runs ungritted and just marked off.
Its made us think as well that resin bound gravel Might be the best solution for our parking area. I think it looks a bit twee at a place like ours, I don't want it to look too neat, but would offer us the run and maintainability of something like farm yard concrete. and the grit of the mess of weed and grit and stone we have there now.0 -

Well that's fair. They all seem to do that. Its such a waste of time and resource yet seems to excite people greatly.
