Mary Berry is on BBC2 at 8.30 with a new series about using up every last crumb to reduce food waste, called Food & Drink: Every Last Crumb0

buy some twigs to go in a vase
LOL what is it about the Twigs? I've still got a load of RM stuff set up from when we were looking, and then when DD2 was looking, and it's amazing how many twigs there are. OH and me always laugh at the Twigs when we go to IKEA... When we've finally cleared Old Home and are getting the EAs in (again) I think we need to go to IKEA (ooops need to do that soon to spend our £20 voucher from the Christmas Tree) and buy a multi set of Twigs - maybe a vase full in every room?:rotfl:
On another matter, I've still to reply to your post a few days back re scientists, it's set up to reply on bedroom computer, so can't do that now. (imagine the Rolls Eyes thingy there used to be here, I really miss that one!)0 -

Merry berry , I find her quite hard to warm to, even though there is no reason why. She seems nice.
Maggie, yep, and the shrug smilie, I really miss that one!0 -

I had a case, probably 25 years ago, of a fish and chip shop.
Inspector said it should be making x% gross profit, it is only making y%, so we are going to raise assessments for underpaid tax and penalties.
The inspector had decided that, for each bag of potatoes, there would be an exact %age wastage in peeling, and a very small %age loss in frying/cutting out black bits. He had stood outside the chippy counting the number of customers, he had bought lots of portions of chips and counted how many in each portion so he KNEW exactly how much profit there would be. No argument.
Totally unreasonable, but we won in the end.
I didn't find out whether he ate all the chips or had to throw them out.0 -

Thanks -I like watching programmes like this (what a surprise).
Last time I watched Superscripmers, I found myself tutting at the tv as they could have done so much better (with the advice).0 -

I really don't understand the twigs thing. I'll definitely buy some when I finally come to sell though (unless something else is the new twigs in a vase by then).
No rush for the reply - I'm quite hit and miss at replying to things (esp as I'm accessing the internet from my phone half of the time and I still find it laborious typing on the touchscreen). I did think as well that I should had rephrased my comment from 'are you a scientist? I continue to be disapointed that scientists can be as mean as everyone else' You seem like a very nice person (and a Nice Person) to me

Looks ike they were all rubbish.
The bicycle man one was good - it was just what he wanted, he was crying he was so pleased. (And yes, it was cos he so pleased, not cos sick over his newly done room) So I'm glad his designer won - it really fitted what the Client wanted.
I thought the other 2 both looked like dogs dinners. Too cluttered, and the one who wanted more storage the designer hadn't even shelved up the very obvious alcove that she just shoved the TV at an angle (irritating to me!) in. Our home is a mess, but at least it's our mess. I'd expect better from a so-called Interior Designer. Ouch, meeow, not a very Nice Person post I guess.0 -
