Saw several small/family groups of those on the beach when I arrived in the area... quite strange to see as it was a scorcher and they were all togged up in full gear, sitting on the sand.Very noticable ringlets suggest Chasidic sect, super religious.
All looked happy enough though
They weren't all together, but certainly all occupying the same section of beach. Individual groups of 4-8 people sitting on the beach, separately.0 -
Weak in what way? Basic skills for the job etc?
I think most people know how to BS their way through the application forms for these things, and know the things to say on a telephone interview. The filtering is probably pretty ineffective for that reason I'd have thought. But then how do you differentiate between thousands of people?
The usual starting points are the most basic. Can you spell? Do you know how to type or word process? Can you construct a grammatically correct sentence? Can you follow instructions? Use black pen, print, do not send cv's etc. If you can't be bothered to check the application for these small things, then why should I show interest in your application?
Once you pass that hurdle, then filtering can be difficult.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

mmmm .... love onion bhajis. Tried many over the years. I dislike the large ball shaped ones, with the dry interior. Many years ago I tried a box of onion bhaji mix and it was spot on. Sharwoods I think it was (circa 1985).Forgot you mentioned a while back that spicy food has no power over you.
Brill! Onion loaf is a bit like onion bajia but as a crunchy loaf. with a lovely sauce to pour over it.
And yes, hot has no power over me... although I don't choose super hot food for the prestige, in fact, I'll usually order something just medium hot as it's not a race to the hottest and I am there to enjoy a meal for its taste.0 -
Mm everyone has that one friend who always orders the hottest thing as a kind of man-test! A pal of mine always has some new super-strength sauce for me to try whenever I go round.
Now and again he'll have something too hot for him, and eyes streaming, nose running, face flushed he'll still insist 'it's not hot at all!'“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

Had a mate who ordered a dish called a phaal. I tried a bite and instantly got such violent hiccups I couldn't eat another thing for about 10 minutes! There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Just the throat gets irritated and triggers some muscular spasms somehow. Don't know if it's really well understood.
It does amaze me that we can built giant machines 20 miles long in underground caves that cross international boundaries to resurrect lost forms of matter like the Higgs boson that vanished from the universe 16 billion years ago.
And not explain hiccups. :eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I usually order a biryani, which can be quite mild. I used to ask how hot it was, they'd say it wasn't, I'd ask them to beef it up a bit ..... I choose it because it's nice and tasty and you get a good volume of food for your money compared to ordering a curry and rice separately

I get hiccups from dry toast - and every time my sister says it's because I'm bolting it.... but it's only toast that does it!0

My wheelchair is not fixable, so until some money is saved up for another one, we are confined to barracks

Begger! Half term next month is not going to be fun....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
