I was thinking earlier, I've never hosted Xmas. Throughout my life I've never cooked a Xmas dinner, that I had control over, planned and cooked, at my house. Never.
Anybody else? I'm guessing Nik's never done one either.... but she's got an excuse.0 -

They won't come to mine. When I've suggested it they've looked quizzically and said "yeah right". I think my family's Christmas is too important to be trusted in my hands. They have let me do a Boxing Day buffet before now though. I am not known for my culinary skills...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Nobody wanted a buffet... nobody wanted the food .... people wanted their dinner at the same time.....0 -

Never. Every single Christmas I have been alive for has been spent with my parents. Since OH's 21st birthday, with my family and OH, and obviously, + Isaac once he was born, too....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I've never actually cooked and hosted the Christmas day meal myself but I used to do the Boxing day one (to make it equal, we used to spend Christmas day with my parents and Boxing day with ex hubby's mum), so it was like we had two Christmas days. Now me and the boys go out somewhere on Boxing day for something to eat as ex mother in law has found a large social circle and her calender over Christmas is hectic!
Saying that, I now do a lot of the prep, cooking and serving at my parent's on Christmas day to take some of the stress out. Not allowed to touch the turkey though, that is still dad's job even though we all look through our fingers now in horror at how close he is getting to his fingers with the knife as his co ordination and sight is going but it is dad's job and he will NOT give it up.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Yes... imagine what that could herald.
The national debt could be stoozed between a mass of credit cards and we'd get a 2 for 1 deal from Bombardier for new trains. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
