Thank you PN and other NPs that have posted before.
Mr Bugs died a little before 7 this morning. He's been barely conscious for the last few days and on a nice quantity of morphine, so he hasn't been in any distress.
Frankly it's a relief now as it isn't the most pleasant way to die for either him or his relatives.
Can't finalise things until tomorrow and the paperwork is sorted, but the funeral will probably be on the 30th.
I am fine BTW and popped into work for a few hours this afternoon rather than shuffling around at home like a spare part.
Hoping that you are looking after yourself, & support and love is around you bugslet.
Celebrate the love and good times you shared. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I quite like that but they so remind me of my Grandmother. We have those in the flat elsewhere. They have already needed the attention of the repair man. The bits that control the blind movement have fallen off and need to be reattached. The strings have also gone a bit out of control before now. We were promised remote control ones, but that never happened.
Maybe they could be another home improvement allocated 'Luxury Status / Do Not Use' and we never close them.PasturesNew wrote: »I've never seen a good one.... you have to accept that if you'e going to wear any swimming hat you're going to look like a tw4t. It's the only way.
No hat is a good hat. Fact.
I wear one of these, it's like an inner tube (I don't do innuendo jokes for contraception)
But I don't look fresh faced like the model.
I found this turban..it's kind of ruched and not bad at all

...and I did find a fairly nice floral trim one in blk/wht on Amazon
...but I think I am being swayed by the model.
I am taking my compliments with grace ...but I am looking particularly shrivelled at the mo......and haven't swum for 2 weeks as been too busy...and last weekend it was just too cold and I knew the carpark would be full of Xmas shoppers.
Thoughts going to Bugs.........so sorry to read of your loss.0 -

She was an old movie star, but unlike Fred Astaire she didn't sing and dance.....she did synchronised swimming. Hilarious concept.
When I was very little in the pool I used to pretend I was Esther Williams :rotfl:
First YouTube search result for her is this

...oh , she is lovely. I always wanted to learn synchronised swimming but it didn't 'exist' as a class when I was young. My swimming club was hardcore 1970's, swim a million lengths and freeze waiting for the locker to be opened to change after a cold shower....then walk a mile home with wet hair as 1; we didn't wear hats and 2; hairdryers didn't exist /work in council baths.
I found a ninja hat for those bad skin days or for days when you want to be anon.0 -
Big thunderstorm in London earlier this evening which I got caught in at Barnes Bridge. The first I knew of it was seeing a plane on the final approach into heathrow get struck by lightning resulting in a big explosion of sparks. It looked from my view as if the lightning bolt was only between the plane and the ground but presume it was just because I couldn't see it properly from my viewpoint.
Then it started raining, a lot, and my suit got soaked.0 -

I don't think I actually would have liked doing it, just liked the films when I was little. She certainly to me swimming though. I was quite fearless.0 -

I'm 'glad' his suffering is over. I'm sad that yours will not be. Your bravery, as always, awes me.
Beautifully put LIR. Thinking of you all, bugslet.0 -

It's possible I suppose, it was about 6.40pm and the rain was extremely heavy, but it's six or seven miles into Central London from here so it might not even have rained there.0 -
Just been watching Educating Yorkshire Christmas Special on C4.
I had the subtitles on, as I find it easier to read than listen.
I couldn't believe it when I read, "Musharraf needs at least a see in English GCSE to go to college."
Honestly, the irony!! :rotfl:
Given that this was a pre-recorded show, and that subtitlers are supposed to be good at English and grammar, this was a superb clanger! They made the same mistake at least once more in the context of Maths GCSE!0
