doh, quote LIR and then linked to doors.

I have never 'done' swimming hats but got one recently as my poor hair doesn't have the strength any more to cope with a few swims a week.
It's rubbish as the hair still gets wet up to above my ears but it does make everything quite silent...which I prefer. Makes me look like Max Wall though.....

No not too much at all. I like both of those, though would probably only wear the second while channeling my inner Norma Desmond and calling "we didn't need dialogue, we had faces"

ETA: I hasten to add that I'm not out to be rude, I genuinely do have an inner Norma, and use that phrase regularly to my husband as a joke. Though if I was truly being pedantic, I'd realise she wasn't wearing a headress in that scene.

The worst bit is you try and pull it on and it pushes down on your forehead making the wrinkles fold down to your eyebrow, then you have to tuck your ears in (as, at this point, they are sticking out horizontally) then you try to adjust it by pushing it back off your brow........then sometimes it pings off and lands 5 ft away.

mmmm the turban looks the nicest but does it work?

The floral one is fun but I would feel too self conscious to swim in it.....be like a floating water lily going up and down the pool.

Challenge for the NP's who have the patience to trawl online shopping sites.....a nice swimming hat that doesn't make you look like Max Wall or a water flower....and that keeps the hair dry.

I think the problem with the turban is it needs the crossover bit, the sort of inverted widows peak, to be flattering, does that make sense?

I'd wear it. My guess is its only effective for ladies breaststroke. Not serious swimming. Drag on it wouldn't help turning underwater for example. etc, I think it would come off.

On Saturday, we will have shiny new bi-fold doors out the back and one set will have...........could be my 1st posh alert here.......blinds in-between the glazing.

We have those in the flat elsewhere. They have already needed the attention of the repair man. The bits that control the blind movement have fallen off and need to be reattached. The strings have also gone a bit out of control before now. We were promised remote control ones, but that never happened.

Yes, that's a posh alert. My sibling's got a new build house and what she's got is interesting, it's a narrow upvc frame that fits round the kitchen door glass that contains the blinds. I thought that was a neat idea.

    Like this: http://www.conceptblindsdirect.co.uk/images/catalog/category88.jpg

"This amazing product utilises the depth between the glass surface and the face of the Glazing Bead of UPVC Windows and Doors to create what appears to be part of your window or door and all without any drilling."

    http://www.conceptblindsdirect.co.uk/blinds-88.htm

That's interesting - we have an absolutely mahoosive blind covering 4 of the 5 doors and then another bit covering the door that can open on its own. Our colour scheme is black and white and we get the 50mm slats so they take up less vertical space when retracted although inside the glass would obviously avoid this problem. Have to say they are not easy to keep clean.

Oh and for PN the blinds are not what makes the doors a posh alert. Ours are probably the cheapest you can get and cost about the same as a small new car.....
    I think....
