    Did they automatically re-asses his DLA claim at the same time?

    No they were done independantly the DLA was done via claim, then appeal, then tribunal enchance over a year had passed when he finally got awarded the DLA on 5th April 2013. He put his original claim in on 31.3.2012 . ESA was following a renewal.
    Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)
