  • You can thank a Yorkshireman for that:)
William Strickland, of Boynton Hall near Whitby, set off in the 1520s to explore the New World in search of Aztec gold - but came back with turkeys instead:rotfl:
In fact, the lectern in Boynton Church is carved in the shape of a turkey, in commemoration of that.
(Jeez, I do know some sh1te:o)

what do you mean by cut the time down?
I used to have an electrical steamer but found that if i didnt leave it out on the worktop it never got used, so i got rid of it and went back to the old fashioned (and my opinion the best) way with my hob 3 tear steamer which i used almost every meal, It gets washed and i leave it on top of the hob, but since i have found these bags, i just pop carrot, brocolli, cauli, mange tout, peas, or whatever veg we are having into a bag and they are done it minutes without having to boil the water in the bottom pan, no washing pans, no mess, they are brilliant.

What I mean is you may as well just put them all in a bowl & microwave for 6 minutes without the need for a bag. All you're gaining is some time & a bit of space in the dishwasher so don't get the point of them.

Salvo's used to be a treat when I was a student in Leeds in the 80's. It's been going a long time.

I have a very vague memory of tights with lines up the back (late teens/early 20s?) and spending about 2 hours getting the lines straight. Then being very careful to only take them down the absolute minimum required when I went to 'powder my nose' so as not to muck the line up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Prob a silly question but where do the £5 gift cards come from?

They are on the list of Rewards that you can claim from Jusrol when you have collected the codes on the promotional packs of pastry.
