Also remember this time of year the printable Tesco Value cards:

I gave up on the invites, while out shopping today went in The Works and bought some lovely invite cards with tea & cake pics on.
All now delivered.
Shame the Tesco value don't do invites LOL!
LLPleased the baby food worked elsie, 12 jars for £1.70
Washing powder is outside of the 10% weight range (A 2.4kg, S 2kg) so wont compare.
Thanks for info on washing powder, didn;t look at exact weights, just thought if it was mys it would compare. So i'm still learning.
Baby food one of my food bank donations. I know it made them cheap but is it £1.70 for 12? Don't ask me the exact amount as I can never 'do the maths', but I would have had to pay £1.58 for the odd 2 then the 10 compared £7.90-£4.00. I'll throw that one back at you now. :rotfl:0 -

Did you only buy 10 elsie? 12 would cost £6 in A's, but still compare £7.90 v £4 giving an APG of £4.30.A lot of reduced baby in S's if you can find it
Some of them compare with A's, so should give a good APG, check MSM for comparables.
ie Cow & Gate Grandma's Sunday Lunch 7mth+
12 of these will cost £6 in A's,
should compare 10 x 79p (APG can only compare 10) to 10 x 40p
giving an APG of £4.30.
(Don't mix 2 of the 12 for £6 offers in the same shop)0 -
QOC if your bro is asking you for the full amount he owes on his car and you know he's getting paid on Monday....I'd be wondering what other debts he has? Doesn't quite add up to me that he couldn't afford to pay at least some of the debt.
I think you've been lovely to offer to help him. And you're right to suggest he tries to pay some himself. When you're struggling like that it forces you to reevaluate which it sounds like he needs to do. Maybe suggest sitting down with him to help him work out how to pay the rest? Don't feel guilty. Hopefully this experience will end up making him more money savvy.
Lou we always have the traditional Christmas pud on Xmas day. I don't like much of it though as it is so rich!
He reckons anything that goes into his account will get eaten up by charges and stuff. There's no way I'm having my money swallowed up like that. He gets paid weekly. I think he should try harder, he text me not even 3 hours after he left my house
He was fine with money until he met his girlfriend. Since then, they've had to have the so called best of everything. But it's all on tick
He was off sick for 5 weeks and was only being paid ssp. Now fir that 5 weeks while he was waiting to see the company doctor, he will have known that his car still needed to be paid. And yet he sat down and did nothing. For FIVE WEEKS. I'm finding it hard to have much sympathy with him right now. There's a big part of me that thinks he's taking advantage of me. Or rather his girlfriend is, iykwim.
My mum will be giving my dad earache about it. In turn, while he won't do it on purpose, that then puts added pressure on me
They're all coming to me fir Christmas and I already feel almost like I don't want to be in the same postcode as them, let alone have them in my house. She's just plain weird. She sat in the car for 40 minutes earlier while me and my brother tried to sort all this out :eek:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
