Can I have some of them please?

My brothers car company wouldn't take my credit card because I don't live at the address the car is registered to. So my plan to put it on my credit card to pay it off after Christmas has failed miserably. Instead, I spoke to them and got him some extra tine to pay, but he'd need to pay a bit more money, and it'd need to be paid off by a card registered to the same address as the car.

Of course you can my love. Quadruple hugs just for you.

I'm sorry about the predicament you are in with your brother.

Could the CAB not give him some financial advice? I know we send our customers to them as they normally do a breakdown of their finances and it really helps them to understand what is vital to spend on and what is not. I'm probably totes barking up the wrong tree, but I do hope you and him can get it sorted.

Out of interest, are you the older sister who always ends up bailing him out? Maybe let him make his mistake so he learns once and for all. :(:(

I got some shakes in S last week on SS. Only 1 to test the waters there, didn't want to push my luck as had just taken 2 through a manned till, and they can be a bit trouty with internet printed coupons sometimes. Anyway, coupon scanned ok but called SA as they have to manually input how much the shakes cost. I must get out to get a few more as my DS has nearly demolished the lot already!

thank you for the info xx

    Evening all......

Mixed issues with the A v S shop I said I was doing this afternoon.

Our useless A's had no Asda bakewell tarts on shelf.... these match £1 to 75p. (Too many mince pies out me thinks!) They also had no dog food for Clicksnap, wanted it to do APG against S price. Loads of other 6 can packs, but not the puppy in jelly one needed! (I don't actually mean 'puppy in jelly'! :o ) A's better hurry up and get on with building our new store, although it's somewhat further from where I live, but not too far from my folks.

    Anyway....
16 items (7 different) on your bill qualify for comparison ASDA Sainsbury's
    +£5.88

    1 x ASDA Small White Rolls (6) £0.53 N/A
    1 x Mr Kipling Bramley Apple Pies (6) £1.49 £1.00
    1 x Mr Kipling Bramley Apple & Blackcurrant Pies (6) £1.49 £1.00
    1 x Aunt Bessie's Boat Shaped Yorkshires Perfect for S... £1.50 £1.00
    1 x Aunt Bessie's Sage & Onion Stuffing Balls (12 per ... £1.00 £1.00
    1 x Aunt Bessie's Large Yorkshire Pudding (6 per pack ... £1.50 £1.00
    1 x Haribo Tangfastics £0.10 £0.10
    1 x ASDA Non Bio Sensitive Powder - 30 Washes (2.4Kg) £4.00 N/A
1 x ASDA Extra Special Sliced White Oaty Framhouse Bre... £1.00 N/A
    10 x Cow & Gate Grandma's Sunday Lunch 7mth+ (200g) £7.90 £4.00

Comparison total (compared products only) £14.98 £9.10

Baby food working, ;) Aunt bessies are also for Clicksnap, but on mys the Asda non bio is supposed to match to Sainsbobs one for £3, so i'm not sure why it didn't work? Oh well, I'm only as far as buying my second box since getting quite a stash from T's sometime back. I knew I should have got more but just couldn't store it. :rotfl:

Sounds like the same useless store as one of my stores - a quite large superstore as well but, no, no Bakewell Tarts.

Regarding the Washing Powder, you want the Colour one vs T. The sensitive one (which shows prices for A and S on msm) is, as has been mentioned, outside the weight range for APG comp. (Nevertheless that doesn't seem to have stopped the 400g I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (ICBINB) glitching - not in our favour - vs M despite M's being 500g: comparing £1 A vs £1.32 for M on the APG as at tonight. So do watch for the occasional ones outside of the range in M that sometimes get picked up, sometimes favourably and sometimes not. In the meantime, don't put ICBINB 400g on a Morries comp. - or indeed on any comp or any shopping at all as £1 for 400g is way too dear.)

Where was I? Oh, the washing powders. Yeah, the CBY Colour 2.4kg should compare vs something like £2.72 for T (better than the £3.00 price for Sains. on its 2kg on the sensitive version). Also, as T's is slightly larger in size than A's, this reduces the actual price it should compare to as well.

(Of course this is all in pure money-saving terms, and totally ignores that you might need the Sensitive washing powder specifically for some reason.)

Elsie bought 12 the same, which cost £6 and gave an APG of £4.30.

11 + 1 would give a slightly higher APG as 10 of the 11 would compare for £4.30, and the odd one would also give a small APG depending on the price difference.

    11 Cow & Gate Grandma's Sunday Lunch 7mth+
plus one of these - would cost £6 and give an APG of £4.65.

He's already in debt management, via cab.

Yup, I am the one that both my brother come to when they're in the poop, and my parents when my brothers are fighting.

Normally I would let him learn the hard way, but this is too big. If it was something like his phone bill or council tax, then yes, but this is big.

It's a lot of responsibility on my head and I don't like it :(

    Evening Elite!

On the subject of cheap Xmas puds, I often make a trifle with strawberry jelly, value tinned peaches, trifle sponges and a tin of value custard.

It comes in around a £1 all in and it's yummy. You used to be able to buy value strawberry jelly for 8p a pack but I don't think you can anymore. The value tinned peaches are usually really nice though.

Surprising but absolutely true I'm afraid. Germs and bacteria get into your blood stream through your gums and you can have life threatening consequences. Not something that's generally known, I think.

Get that toothbrush out ! :p:D

I had a heart defect I was born with repaired in my mid 20's.... should never have been left that long but hey ho. Anyway, I used to have to take a large dose of antibiotics before every dental appointment in case bacteria got in my blood stream, because, I was told, it could attach to the scar tissue withing the heart chambers..... This was up until about 18 months 2 years ago, when dentist told me policy's had changed and it was no longer necessary...... (Made me wonder if more a money saving issue  ) So I always keep an eye on myself after dentist appointment.
