Ikea workbenches are a little deeper to accommodate their deeper units. We hadn't realised that and bought our benches elsewhere. If you do that, to ensure they have overhang I would suggest getting 900 width (breakfast bar) cut to 620 or so.
We cut portions out of the back or base of unit in 2 which had pipes running into them.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
  • our kitchen was from ikea and i love it (apart from its not finished yet)

we purchased it last nov and still at march after 4 trips 90mins in each direction i didn't have all the bits which was a nightmare

my husband eventually fitted ours after waiting for our builder friend for a month we had a row and when i got up the next day the cupboards were all built and ready to hang which was then also really simple
BUT like the others have said if your walls aren't straight or your room doesn't have 90degree angles then dont bother as we are having a nightmare trying to fix one corner carousel unit to the wall as the room isn't square... which then also means i will need a bigger worktop to compensate the gap lol

other than these problems when/if my kitchen EVER gets finished im sure it will be beautiful and well worth the £1000 for it

but i would say have a go at fitting yourself and if you cant do it then call in help

    good luck
  • My brother has an Ikea kitchen - apparantly anyone with a little bit of DIY knowledge can fit them so you might want to get someone else to do it.

In terms of quality he doesn't have any complaints - cleans really well and still look great!

What are you trying to say? Have you been spying on my quality DIY?
