Think you'll find it's 5% - off first transaction, so if you're going to need other stuff, too - do a really looooooooong list & get in in one go.
Take back what you don't need & they refund to a seperate card, the value of returned items. so you don't make anything extra, but don't loose out either!!

We had IKEA kitchen installed a few months ago and really love it. We used local kitchen fitter who complained all the time about the lack of space behind units etc, but did like the door fittings and was forced to admit that he thought the finished kitchen looked fantastic.
Two things to watch out for:
1 The wall units can't be adjusted to cope with uneven walls, like other makes, so you have to ensure your wall is absolutely level.
2 Buy an IKEA handle template for fixing handles to doors. Our fitter loved this so much we gave ours to him and bought another for ourselves in case we needed it in the future. Can't remember the cost, but it is only a cheap plastic thing.0 -
I think these Home Card offers come and go, and also vary between stores.0

We had an Ikea kitchen fitted last year and we really love it. As other posters have mentioned there is no service void at the back which our fitter complained about fairly freequently but to be honest wasn't a real problem. The problem was really that our walls are wonky (common in older houses) which meant that to get it to go straight he had to bring everything out from the wall. This meant we had to use Breakfast bars (90 cm deep) and then cut the width down. What I really like is the lovely soft close drawers, stylish and also you can choose to modify things later. We are currently changing from a shelf cab to one with pull out baskets just by changing the fittings inside. THe fitting were so inexpensive that we went a bit mad for drawers and pull out larders
whic made for more work for the bloke fitting.
We got everything delivered in one huge order including appliances, which though OK aren't better than you can get elsewhere, I wouldn't recommend the sinks. It only cost £100 and loads easier than trying to get it home ourselves. We overordered a few things and took them back after about 8 months without a receipt and were given credit to the value no problem, try doing that at MFI.
Also the price you see is the price you pay, no fake 40% off sale price gimmcks that leave you wondering what the real price should be or are you being taken for a ride...0 -
I'm just about to install my own IKEA Kitchen. If there is any thing major to report I'll post it. I've plenty of fitted other kitchens but never an IKEA kitchen.0

That would be great. I've just got a couple of quotes for 'normal' kitchens ie with the 50mm pipe recess, am just awaiting a quote from Homebase who have 50% plus 25% plus I went in yesterday on the 10% day. I should get that on Monday. I'll price up the Ikea one now ready to compare.
It may all depend on your fitting report!0 -

I'd definitley go for the Ikea. The pipe recess thingy wasn't a problem for me because the pipes were running along the ground at the back where's there plenty of room at leg level. other than that they are cheaper kitchens but just as good quality as you can find anywhere if not better. One small issue is the fitting of an integrated dishwasher. If you want legs instead of a plinth on your kitchen beware about the fact that it can be tricky to have legs with a dishwasher integrated. Dishwashers sit lower and so can be seen if you go for legs. If you're having a plinth instead of legs there's no problem. Easy to install - no trickier than other kitchens. Every make and model has its quirks and Ikea is no exception but I'd say there are overall fewer issues with Ikea than most others. Ikea - kitchens are fine. I recommend them.0 -
I have just had my Ikea kitchen fitted, including a huge double bowl ceramic sink for less than £200...it all looks fantastic and cost so much less than it would have if bought from any other major name.
Everything arrived intact, in place and on time, except for the fact that the delivery guy moaned profusely about having to carry it up the stairs, I couldn't be happier with the customer service :rotfl:
I had mine fitted by a friend of a friend rather than Ikea fitters, he also commented on the fact that there is no recess for pipes. As such, I would recommend that you source your worktops from elsewhere, if you get worktops of 640 or 650mm deep rather than Ikea's standard of 606 then it gives your fitter a few mm to play with when your walls are not exactly level.
I also found the solid wood worktops elsewhere to be of better quality and value for money.
I built the units myself to save money and have to say that I would recommend this option for anyone, the flatpacks are incredibly easy to erect.
In general, I couldn't recommend them highly enough.Total Original Debt: £30404.24
Current debt: £18586.16
Total Paid: £11857.74 38.95% :T0 -
We've just installed ours, and hadn't realised about the depth of worktops so some of ours are flush, (one was cut down from a breakfast bar at 620, and looks much better) it still looks lovely though.
My fitter was the OH and he too complained about space behind cabinets, but I much prefer having the deeper cupboards, than all that wasted space behind them.
I have so much more storage than I used toI'd definitely have another.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -

Do you mean the front face of the worktop is flush with the front of the door?
Is this normal for Ikea kitchens?
I see their new kitchen book is just out - new styles and colours.
Regarding the pipework snags, I was proposing to take the back off and trim the width so it fitted within the cabinet. If I fix at approx 50mm in, that will give me some adaptability for pipework cutouts. The cabinets without pipework behind will be full depth.
Anyone see a problem with my cunning plan?0
