Great news on the job front :T
:j How's my Edna Giraffe?
Thanks GG.
Edna Giraffe is feathering up nicely but is being very camera shy (and quick) at the moment, so I will try to catch her with the camera so you can have a personal update.
She and Dora seem to be at the bottom of the pecking order but we have developed a secret routine round the back of the henhouse when I deliver the pm mash. Lairy pair and Gladys jump straight into the mash whilst Edna follows me round to the henhouse, followed by Dora, for a little hand-feeding of mealworms. I read that hens quickly learn if they have an ally in you or not ... and she definitely knows it (and loves it)! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

I expect most of your students are away from home ( not to mention being aboard) for the first time without their families. I think you are doing a great job helping them along the path to independence and giving them great memories.
There'll be a whole chunk of European youth who'll fondly remember 'that summer we were at Habibiboo's'!
The opening at the training school seems like a good opportunity - hopefully you'll get more work from them in future:)

Hi GG, thanks for your kind words ... it's just fun having lads around again - helps me cope with the old empty nest from my own boys! To tell the truth these lads are doing me the favour really!
Hope you're OK! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

As one door closes............
Brilliant to hear that the newbies are doing well - all the lullabies must have helped
Finally what a great couple you must be. To help these youngsters and be able to give them what they need is such a gift. Life changing opportunity potentially.
Best wishes Tilly x x x

Thanks GreenT and Tilly ... haven't 'seen' you for ages Greent, hope you're OK, will pop along and find your diary again in the next couple of days!
Am feeling much more settled now that the deed is done and client waved goodbye to (in a very professional manner, of course)! Very weird though, the other job literally coming through afterwards!
Oooh, lullabies, the girls are growing out of this a little now that they know to put themselves in the coop and night and now that they are slightly less terrified of lairy pair. I do still sing as I close it all up for the night though, and it is lovely to see little Edna's eyes close as she drifts off, safe, warm and secure!
Thanks for your comment about us Tillly, that's kind, but truly we're just doing what anyone would do, treating the lads how we'd want our own kids to be treated. It upsets me to think that some host families just see £ signs. I do believe it's possible to make it pay and to deliver 5* hosting to the kids ... although I appreciate that we're lucky and haven't had any hard-to-reach ones this time around! I certainly hope the ones we've had will look back on their stays with happy memories xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

So, quick update tonight as Mr. Hbbb wants to watch something before Netfl*x subscription bites the budget dust!MFW actions:
3rd NSD in a row!
Nowt in or out but hopefully some client monies in tomorrow and Thursday.
SMASH day 66 / 100 = £ 2,838 / £ 3,000Grey clouds:
None really!Silver linings:
Paperwork for new freelance gig came through as promised. I have training with them tomorrow pm via phone etc so will know a little more then. It's just a one-off for the mo, but it's enough to get me on the books!Daily declutter:
Nope, mad around here and it was a choice between going for a walk with my man and my pooches or doing that kind of thing. Himself and hounds won!Simple pleasures:
* Seeing the cormorant sunning his wings in the park (although I forgot my camera).
* Mr. Hbbb is making an excellent job of painting the new front door. We'll have a cosy home this winter and be able to get in and out ... it's all good!
* Finally getting to the bottom of a jar of jam that's been in the fridge since forever!
Hope everyone is OK. Happy hump day for tomorrow. xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Lovely that the new freelance gig looks to be working out.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Hi Hbbb! Just popping in to catch up now that I have joined the MFW brigade for real! I've bought a chicken coop for my bunny and she is loving it!

Cheers Watty, although as we know there's often a honeymoon period with new clients! Still, I can live with that if it makes the rest of August a little gentler than the last few weeks have been! Hope all's well on your freelance front too. xgetting-sorted-sarah wrote: »Hi Hbbb! Just popping in to catch up now that I have joined the MFW brigade for real!
