I'm fine Alchemilla, thanks, just a very busy few days and not much time online apart from work! Have two major birthdays coming up (big sis is 50 tomorrow) so have been sorting cake and surprises etc during a few of the evenings this week, then will do it all over again at end of next week for birthday of eldest Hbbb bobbin. Speaking of which ...
Yup, make the most of little dudes (and dudesses) they are flown from the nest in the blink of an eye!
Hope you're good xSecret_Saving_Squirrel wrote: »Hope all is well and you are just too busy sunning yourself....

SSS ... that's a good 'un ... :rotfl: The closest I came to that was the half hour I spent picking the evil caterpillars off the purple sprouting broccoli which is not purple and doesn't seem to be sprouting much at all now the critters have been at it! x

Thank you lovely visitors ... I often get waylaid on the way to my own thread by commenting on others and I seem to have been getting online a little less this week (see)
So brief overview of events and reflections:MFW actions:
End of week account shuffling and TTs resulted in £123 MOP (yes, I know very u tidy number, but rounding down accounts seems to make this total messy, will have to find the mid ground)! :rotfl:
Still, all to the greater good, SMASH day 70 = £ 2,961 / £ 3,000 ... feeling very optimistic about this now!
NSDs across all week apart from yesterday as getting last few bits for decorating cake for sis. Budgeted spends will happen today too but hopefully Sunday will be a NSD.Grey Clouds:
We're noticing that the evenings are definitely drawing in :eek: by the time we run the dogs down the park after dinner it's usually about 7 (at the end of park nearest home you can't let dogs off leads until after 6pm anyway) and by the time we get back it's nearly time to put the hens away, students return from evening activities and the evening seems gone!
Russian student has his 16th birthday on Monday and it seems he's only ever had one birthday cake and celebration of his day! Can't have that ...!Silver Linings:
Had training phone call and paperwork all through from new client for Monday.
Also gained second new client whom I completed a trial project for and who is very pleased with results so has offered me more long term work. The main projects don't actually pay too well but there are lots of add-ons so I'm not looking back now re: other client (certainly this new client's low pay compares Ok with old client and involves far less faff)!Daily declutter:
15 mins garage tidy resulted in several items into recycling and listed on Freecycle. Will count recycling as one at the mo and hope to get Freecycle takers over the weekend. Total = lost track ~ will find it and add in!Simple pleasures:
* feathered friends
* virtual friends
* RL friends
* thinking up new ideas for once SMASH is over!
* getting washing out in the hope of it drying before storms come
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and stays safe from storms.Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

The evenings are certainly starting to draw in a bit now.
We notice the difference in the mornings.
Our bedroom is south westerly facing at the back of the house, but at certain times of the year, the sun is at the correct angle at about 6am in the morning to shine through a front bedroom window and though two open doors to bathe our bedroom wall in a glorious golden sunlight.
This always causes much delight at the start of May, as it feels like summer is on it's way, but on its return journey at the start of August, it's a sign that summer will soon give way to autumn.
The 'Smash' project has been a wild success - it'll be interesting to find out what you do next.

Thought for the first time this evening that it was getting dark early. Such a pity, the long evenings seem so brief.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Hope all is well in Hbbbland?
Did you have a great time for your sister's bday? Have you swapped for a new set of students yet? And how did it go yesterday? And when is the knitting bomb happening? And is Mr Hbbbb relaxed yet? (put him on the grumpy step if he isn't...)NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Thanks Goldie ... yes those mornings have certainly changed too, not least because the later the sun rises the later the hens start shouting to be let out! Definitely a nip in the air the last couple of mornings too!
SMASH isn't quite over but the last student monies should take care of it, fingers crossed! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Yes, Watty ... we've moved into that time of putting the chooks to bed earlier and getting up with them slightly later! You're right about the long evenings feeling brief ... I don't really feel we had too many this time around, despite those few weeks of really good weather, the garden was just too windy to stay out until dark! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Sorry I've been a bit irregular, lots going on!
* Sister's birthday complete success, all good, lots of family fun and catch-ups!
* These students are still with us until next Tuesday. Haven't had any more paperwork through (this main school will be largely finished now) but the other school with the short-stays which pay more will be going through the autumn so I'll phone them after these boys leave to let them know that the room's available.
* Two events yesterday - working on-site for new client, went very well indeed, just have to wait for the money to come through. Also one of the students had his birthday so we let him invite a few of his friends up for a bbq and birthday cake. he said it was his best birthday, which was lovely!
* Yarn bombing has been and gone, I wasn't able to contribute as much as I'd hoped to it, but it was a fun event.
* Mr. Hbbb is very relaxed now and is planning a little trip for 5 days to visit his daughter in Yorkshire and to walk / camp a bit whilst he's there. I have to stay here with dogs, chooks and students!
Hope all is well with you! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hope everyone is OK. Little update ...MFW actions:
* 2 x NSDs so far this week.
* Small Tilly Tidy, more major account tidying tomorrow and spreadsheet shuffle Thursday when student monies come through, which will hopefully help to meet SMASH target.
Current SMASH total £ 2,961 / £ 3, 000Grey Clouds:
Robin Williams ... a comedy stalwart during my own growing up (Mork and Mindy) and my kids' (Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin), very sad for him and his family.Silver Linings:
Just had FaceTime interview with second new client from last week. They want me to do some long term work for them but we haven't agreed money yet. We shall see.Daily declutter:
Finally an update that includes actual progress on this front:
* Decluttered my chest of drawers. 1 bag of assorted textile items to textile bank.
* 1 large item picked up by Freecycler.
* 1 old coat passed on to CS.
