    Hope everyone's well! Short and sweet tonight 'cos I'm knackerooned!

    ;)MFW actions:
    * NSD
    SMASH day 30 / 100 = £500 / £ 3,000 - yes, the same as yesterday, see below ...

    :(Grey Cloud:
    Problem with the uni payment, after all their own errors, it turns out I made an error on the payroll slip so it didn't go in today. My own fault for filling out vital paperwork the day after medication changed. May be another five days :( And I so wanted to sort my spreadsheet.

    :)Silver Lining:
    Quieter day down the hen house, students ate their dinner out today, so less noise all around (lucky as I was up at daybreak 4.11 precisely to stop the feathers flying in the coop)! Two proper eggs, one softie, amazingly whole one, looks just like a tiny eggy water balloon!

    :pDaily Declutter:
    Nothing, no time for owt but work, hens, students, GP appointment, sorting bank, sorting uni pay issues. Think this is a sign I need a little mental decluttering, as well as the physical! Total as yesterday, 243 / 365.

    :DSimple pleasures:
    * Going to bed any minute now as daybreak is approx 4.15 tomorrow and must keep this up until May decides to play nicely or winter mornings, which ever comes soonest!
    * Texting off-spring to see if they are all OK ... no use leaving them voice mails!
    * I know some banks are evil, self-serving and don't give two hoots for customer care, but the bloke I spoke to today at Royal Bank of Wanting-to-be-Independent-Nation could not have been more helpful to me if I had been his own mother. Over and above is all I can say.

    Hope you've all had an OK Monday. x

    Having spent yesterday on phone to a dumpling at a bank am delighted to read of excellent customer service and that they are not all muppets. Did you get his name and direct dial number by any chance??
    :)
    Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

    In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    The hens sound great, if rather labour intensive! Everything sounds pretty good, are you still on the early nights?

    Watty, his name is Peter ... it was the general number but he's there each day (not that I'm stalking him, it's just he happened to say that I could ask for him in the future ...!) Can't remember the last time I had an offer like that :rotfl:

    They're only hard work at the moment because of settling in the new girls Toots, it shouldn't take more than a fortnight in theory. The newbies are so cute I don't really mind, they don't make proper chicken noises, just furbee sounds!
    Early nights aren't really working because students' curfew is 11 pm so we have to be up until they're in (although last night I left Mr. Hbbb on duty). Tonight he's out so I'm up and at it till all the littlies are safely tucked up, then this mother hen is hitting the hay.

    Hope you get a good night's sleep x

    I'm still working on it A*M, but you know how it is when you know you've got to wake up early! I'm getting it down to a good routine though ... up by 4.15 to see to hens, back to bed for 5, up again 7.15 to knock students awake (door, not heads) by 8! Unfortunately I will have to stay up from 4.15 tomorrow due to work circs! :(

    Tilly, you fell off the end of my multi-quote!

    Miss LRH sounds like a good idea, Bessie is getting far too big for her bloomers. I shall have to get a photo of her next to one of the others to show you the comparison in size, but I'm not actually encouraging her in their direction at the moment ... I think she's trying to pluck herself a feather boa courtesy of them, and they've got enough bare bits already! I did get them all to eat nicely out of the same pot for 15 seconds today which was pretty good! x

    Another day at it!

    ;)MFW actions:
    * NSD
    * Some work monies through (not uni money yet though) so £100 MOP, total of all of which is enough to bring us down below £106,000 so I have mailed Royal Bank of Want-To-Be-Independent-Nation to ask them to bring our borrowing limit (facility they call it) down to £106,000. This gives us less than 50% LTV which should be enough to trigger the reduced interest rate, over a year earlier than they had us down for! :T Did try to phone them but was on hold for too long, hopefully they will deal with it promptly as I'd like the new interest rate confirmed before they do this month's statement and apply the interest on the 17th!

    SMASH day 32 / 100 = £ 600 / £ 3,000.

    :(Grey Clouds:
    Early mornings, hope these girls learn to play nicely sooner rather than later.

    :)Silver Linings:
    These students are good fun, we're pretty lucky with them I think, especially when they tell us about the antics of other members of their group.
    Should get their first payment tomorrow, but can't really count it towards anything as it's already been spent out on their food etc. Next week's payment should be the "profit" one!

    :pDaily Declutter:
    One pile of papers recycled from living room to hen house (messy Mr. Hbbb) and one pile of papers shredded from study (messy me)!
    Total = 245 / 365.

    :DSimple pleasures:
    Quiet evening home alone with a flask of ginger and lemon tea. Trying hard to be good and not think about Mr. Hbbb's bottle of wine in fridge!

    Hope everyone's OK.

    Morning HBBBO, nipping in for a catch up. The hen situation is a revelation to me I had no idea they were so combative - is it worse in the light mornings? (excuse ignorance). The students sound great I am mulling over having a post doc lodger for next year just whilst I am working close to home it would really help with payments. You are so close to the magical 50% LTV...............champagne all round?
  • Morning Habibiboo, glad to hear the students are a good crowd. How many do you have and for how long?

    Lemon and ginger tea sounds good.

    Hope the chickens are settling as the early morning must be difficult. Do you have any idea, from experience, how long they will take to settle in?

    Have a lovely Thursday
