    Well done on sending back the clothes which were't quite right.

    As I buy less clothes these days, I have to be 100% sure that it's exactly what I want and that it fits perfectly.

    Back in the day, I'd buy something, bring it home and try it on, but if it didn't look quite right, I'd think that I'd wear it anyway.

    Of course, I never did wear the item of clothing, and it'd languish on my wardrobe for ever.

    But no more! I have only bought a few things this year, but I'm completely happy with them

    Hope you are feeling well

    Thanks Al and Goldie ... felt quite empowered just sending the lot back! There's nothing I desperately need so I'll hang on for the January sales! :rotfl:

    Ahh, another day ...

    ;) MFW actions:

    * NSD = 3/7

    AA action = freezer inventory to help finalise October's meal plan, now Al done.

    AA day 40 / 100 = £ 632 / £ 2,000

    :( Grey Clouds:

    No action or reaction from Skittish Power yet.

    :) Silver Lining:

    Just plodding on, no real highs or lows today.

    :p Daily declutter:

    Campaign toiletry use up is underway - centuries old shampoo dregs used up today = 1 / 31 and overall total of 296 / 365.

    :D Simple pleasures:

    * Easy salad courtesy of garden greenery.
    * Clean sheets on the bed!
    * Finished the front of Mr. Hbbb's Xmas jumper, sleeves now underway.

    Hope everyone else is Ok and coping with the shift into the 10th month of the year ... where has this year gone? x

    So, where was I?

    ;) MFW actions:

    * Spend yesterday, but budgeted (Mr T delivery) approx £50 which should see us through with just veg shopping & milk etc till the end of month.

    * NSD today = 4 / 7 this week so far.

    AA actions ...

    Yesterday - spreadsheet shuffle now that Mr Hbbb's pay has come through, £250 MOP made, so AA day 42 / 100 = £ 882 / £ 2,000, slowly sneaking up.
    Today - sorted some seeds out for planting over the weekend to help keep the growing our own going over the winter.

    :( Grey Clouds:

    I appear to be slightly crabby today ... not sure why, but :mad: all the same!

    :) Silver Lining:

    Dora appears to be finishing her moult, lots of pretty new fluff appearing.

    :p Daily Declutter:
    * One folder full of papers sorted /shredded.
    * Toiletry uses ups - novelty soap & a shower gel finished up yesterday, hair conditioner sachet and a bottle of perfume finished up today (I'm smelling gorguss btw) :D
    That's a total of 5 bobbins all used up so 301 / 365

    :D Simple pleasures:

    * We have a visiting pied wagtail, very cute (although the magpies seem to be harassing it a bit).
    * Another sunny day ... am really appreciating this as this is usually the time of year we start to layer up rather than put the heating on, but here I am in my short sleeves!
    * Thoughts and possibilities.
    * Smelling gorguss (unlike dogs who must be bathed at the weekend cos they are stinkers).

    Happy weekend every one, you've earned it! x

    Hope you are having a good weekend.

    Watching the birds in the gardens is a real delight, especially when there is a new visitor.

    We've re-sited the 'feeding station' to be next to the bird table, so we can see all visitors clearly from where we sit.

    We also have a bird bath - I like it when about 10 sparrows go in, for a group wash!

    Hi Goldie, hope you're Ok!

    Yes, loving the sparrows too! All summer we had a colony of house sparrows nesting in the bird boxes, now it's autumn the hedges and bushes of the garden are full of hedge sparrows who have found the feeders and are also using Mr. Hbbb's "pond" as a day spa!

    Do you do the RSPB garden watch survey? It's quite interesting to spend an hour watching the birds and logging what you see.

    Hope you're weekend's good too! x

    A simple Saturday today ...

    ;) MFW actions:

    Small Tilly tidy and account watch. I noticed that because Mr. Hbbb's donation to the cause has gone into the account we are (until next week when the mortgage interest comes out) finally below £100,000. I know it'll bob back into 6 figures once the rest of the direct debits and mortgage interest have all been paid but I'm enjoying the thought that this time next month we will be below it for sure (and, dare I say it, ahead of target). It's given us a bit of extra momentum though, as we move towards the second half of our austere 100 days.
    Trying not to be super-frugal-bordering-on-obsessive about this mind you cos now that I've got a taste of being out of the 100ks, I really want to stay below it! :o

    * NSD today to make this week's total of 5 / 7 NSDs.

    Today's AA action: still focusing on the food end of things. Converted 1 1/2 lb of remaining ripe tomatoes and 2 lb courgettes into 5 jars of chutney / pasta sauce to help use them up and to give us something lovely to have once those dark nights are properly here. Used a home grown chilli to add a little kick too!

    AA day 43 /100 = £ 882 / £ 2,000

    :( Grey clouds:

    Rainy day so wet laundry everywhere except on the washing line!

    :) Silver Lining:

    Rain will help Mr. Hbbb's new plants settle into front garden.

    :p Daily declutter:

    One odd knee length sock upcycled into a carrier bag holder (you know one of the ones where you put the bags in at the top and pull out of the bottom when you need one?) This has also has the happy side effect of removing Mr Hbbb's bag stash from under the sink where it annoys me (not that I'm still crabby or owt :o)
    Total = 302 / 365

    :D Simple Pleasures:

    * A "helpful" dog who thinks he's still a pup trying to steal the said sock to play tugs with whilst I was trying to sew it. Had to fetch an other odd sock to donate to his game in the end!
    * The spicy fragrance of simmering chutney for several hours today.
    * Just that little feeling of finally starting to get somewhere with the whole MF / frugal finance malarkey!

    Hope everyone else is having a happy Saturday! Hugs if you need them (x)

    So happy you are bobbing in and out of the 99s! And ahead of target too :T.

    Love the image of tug of war with the dog! Who won?

    Hope you get some sunshine today to enjoy. Two days ago I was in shorts and a teeshirt and sandals, yesterday I was in tracky trousers, long-sleeved teeshirt, fleece jacket and fleecy socks! The seasons have changed indeed.

    :j Yes, getting there indeed A*M. I'm hoping to minimise the bobbing but have resigned myself to the inevitable!

    Hard to say who won sock tugs, but safe to say the sock lost. You see once smaller boy and I started the game with the sock I gave him, bigger girl came over all green eyed and took over my part in the game. So whilst I did my little sewing job I was totally entertained by their tug of war with poor little sock ... they get to the stage of pretend growling at each other to try to be fierce (not very convincingly with a mouthful of sock) but if one of them accidentally drops their end of the sock, the other stops growling and sits patiently to let the other pick the end up again, then it's back on all fours, grrr-ing away and pitting their strength against each other.

    So, I guess I also successfully decluttered another odd sock (or should that be two halves)? x

    :D Thanks Toots and more than happy that you're still AA-ing, with your envelope routine and my AA we should get there in the end between us! It's certainly working at this end although these last couple of weeks have felt a bit tricky.

    Gawd, haven't had a Flake for years ... is it wrong that my muesli now seems boring without one?

    Must catch up with your thread later too! Hope you're having a happy weekend. x
