    Hello :)

Hope you don't mind me stopping by to chip in re: courgettes. I love them and use them in so many dishes. Anything with veggies in I can chop up and include. I often grate them into shepherds pies or bolognese so it's not obvious but still get the veggie goodness ;)

It's my own mini mission to try yellow ones (never seen them in the shops here) and I would also like to try deep fried stuffed courgette flowers. They are supposed to be yummy

    BW
  • Noooooo! Sorry you are vomity again. A bug? Meds? courgettes?

Are you going to join the NST (Ninja Saving Turtles - the legacy group from Ninjasavingkat) again? Tho' you prob have enough on your plate without another challenge?!

I like the idea of one MSE thing a day. Just think - by Christmas you will be more than 90 steps further on.

Wowzer to the knitting! How on earth do you knit so fast? Special turbo-charged needles?

Good luck with the FF. :D

  • Hi Habibiboo, sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather. Your energy and ability to stay focused is brilliant and I'm sure having a few restful days won't cause any harm.

Lovely to see you B*W, chipping in is most welcome! Mr. Hbbb has tried the courgette flowers at a posh birthday do earlier in the year and said they're delicious. He tried it at home but we don't have a deep fryer and actually never deep fry anything so not enough oil in the house! As a result they had a kind of frying pan sizzle for a bit before he ate it, which he declared ok, but I wasn't convinced enough to try too!

Grating them is an excellent idea for adding interest to lentil bake (our veggie version of shepherd's pie)... I usually layer them in there but I like the idea of adding the texture to the lentils, thanks for that! x

:rotfl: Can't blame the courgettes, just all part of my general condition! Am on a bit of a flare up at the moment, but am being sensible in self-management blah! :p

Ahh, you know me A*M, love a challenge ... had a look for it but can't find it, will try again later!

I like the idea of one MSE thing a day. Just think - by Christmas you will be more than 90 steps further on.

It's funny that just a month ago, the C word was banned, now it's being bandied across all the threads with complete abandon!
You're right though and current very frugal finances will be running until approx next year so unless I have a wonderful sudden recovery and can earn lots again, doing one MSE thing a day is a way of making sure I'm contributing, keeping a focus on the good work in hand and keeping Christmas manageable!

Wowzer to the knitting! How on earth do you knit so fast? Special turbo-charged needles?

It's excellent anti-nausea therapy (and I can only do it whilst Mr. Hbbb is out so it has to be done swiftly) ... I want it to be a surprise!

Good luck with the FF. :D

And you A*M ... will track down your thread too later on and see what you're doing for the NSK challenge! x

Thanks Tilly, there are always things to be done and always things I can do even in a low key way. I just wish I had your energy at the moment ... astounding busy-ness over on your thread! x

Good morning! Got a weird chilled morning as dd has a hospital appt - routine one - so neither of us have gone to sch. Feel like I'm bunking off!

NSK has now stopped running the challenges. She's resigned completely and is off to Norn Iron soon for time with mumsy and family. Mothernerd has run Sept and yours truly is doing October (gulp!). Might see you over there...:D x

    And so today ...

    ;) MFW actions:

    * NSD 2/5 achieved.
    * AA Action: phoned new gas/elec provider as per yesterday's post, all's good from their end but they said I must go back to old provider to get them to close the electric. So this is them managing a "hassle-free switch" how, I wonder?
    * Got up to date on RM survey which should provide another £5 voucher before Xmas hopefully!

    AA day 32 / 100 = £632 / £ 2,000.

    :( Grey Clouds:

Having streamlined my wardrobe to approx 45 items, I realise I don't really like some of them much and appear to be wearing the same 3 outfits in rotation! Hmmm.

    :) Silver lining:

Checked yarn stash. Have enough to knit myself a nice new jumper after I've finished Mr. Hbbb's secret jumper.

    :p Daily Declutter:

Nowt out but have made my list for freegle so will put that on tomorrow. Total still 295 / 365.

    :D Simple pleasures:

    * Patting self on back for remembering to soak all the dried beans overnight last night, ready to cook for tonight's meal.
    * The ease of picking a chilli to add to the beans but actually stopping first to think about how dainty and pretty Mr. Hbbb's little red chilli plant is looking (before choosing a victim for the pot)!
    * Still being able to get washing dry on the line ... this September's proving to be something of a miracle weather-wise.

Hope everyone else is Ok and that hump day's not too onerous tomorrow! X

Still in the preparation phase - only found out the other day that I would be doing it, so lots of honing and refining required.

Will prob post it on about the 26/27th. Tho if I 'finish' it before that I may just pop it up - otherwise I might forget!!!
