    Thanks for clarifying :D.

In other financial news - George Osbourne is looking younger these days - wonder what his portrait in the attic looks like .

The more I learned about the Solar system, the less seriously I took the threat of alien invasion. To be frank - why would you? If you want water, you go to Titan, if you want heat/light/power you go to Mercury. If you want a soulless pit, you go to Hull... ;)
Erm, serious, no. I just enjoy them. They're nonsensical, but I enjoy them. And don't you trash Hull, the university is very closely connected to my family :naughty: norty Z :p
And Jerry! Don't forget Jerry... ;)
I'd blanked the dual authorship altogether, I thought you meant one of the characters for a minute! Sorry Jerry :D

If you can, look at the background plot/scenario for the computer game "The Last of Us". It presents a whole new twist on it. There's various playthroughs on Youtube if that's your thing.

It's not a book, nor a film, but games are evolving into something between the two.
Not sure Z, to be honest. I'm not a fan of graphic visuals, not at all ... just googled it, and it refers to survival/horror. I checked out the trailer too. Don't fink so, but thanks for mentioning it - I was trying to write some stuff, and its always good to know whats out there that people like.

Focus on what would provide benefit to you personally first. So that wood-burning stove of yours may be a better idea - but only if fitted.

You can't beat being warm and dry when it's cold and wet.
So true. But look at this cutie: http://www.belltent.co.uk/truly_portable_wood_burning_stove
It makes me think of hanging out in a couple of carpet shops in Istanbul in the early 90s, when the tourists had all disappeared - I toured the whole building, and there were still workmen on a couple of floors, mending carpets that were in the Istanbul Museum (it was a tres posh shop). No heaters as we'd know them tho: they had a thick plate, maybe three feet across, a portable fireplace, and a little stove sitting on it. Toasty warm too.

    There's this one too: http://wildstoves.co.uk/wood-burners-for-tents/traveller-stove/
I think they're the people who were on tv with paying their mortgage off in two years ... in the meantime, I've got my little unfinished rocket stove

With proper tea bags I hope... ;)
    But of course :rotfl:

El - this is a lot! Still, I always love it when people take over my diary, hope you do too :kisses3:

Yes, I've seen that one before. There's reviews of it on Youtube, including the optional kettle which fits around the chimney.

That's very much up my street... ;)

    Why is it unfinished?

I don't know, go away for a women for Indy meeting, come back and my diary is finally worth reading cause it ain't my rambling mind :)

Keep it up people :) I enjoy it :)

So was at my meeting and it was very interesting, I met some lovely people, I was very unsure if I should go as I know I have some risidual issues but it was Jeanne Freeman who is one amazing woman and I thought if anyone could save me it would be her or Lesley Riddoch, had a great night, spent a couple of pounds but have realised yep at this stage I am definitely a liability as opposed to an asset so will continue with my step back from campaigning and carry on with my observations only :)

Back to money ... I was thinking of investing in gold myself in the event of a total societal breakdown ...zombies and such ;) but I do reckon water filters would be more valuable, also where would I keep my gold ?

Valid question, might impact home insurance, safes are only rated to so many ££££ and it leaves you open to the risk of home invasion from the friendly courier who delivers said gold :rotfl:

Don't know where you keep it, but I know where you can buy it from vending machines :rotfl:.

I haven't used them (so no conflict of interest/actual experience of them), but @tkinson's seem to get very good feedback if you insist on buying shiny things.
