On your political point, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if voices are heard come May. There was an article on the news last night about political modelling and the bookies certainly think that the SNP are good for 25-30 seats at this point. Torn; I voted for independence, but Mrs E (and the majority) didn't. Still, greater representation at the big table can't be a bad thing if we're not getting our own table?
I'm of the lets wait and see mentality, I think Jim Murphy could pull it out of the bag if enough people believe him ( I hope not, but then I struggled with the whole concept of why a person would choose to allow a foreign government to rule them so thought independence was merely a formality so what do I know lol )
I think the S.N.P stand to gain much but also think they need to be careful that they dont assume the result and therefore dont put the effort in or score more own goals ( which they seem to be doing with frequency just now)
Ach such is life, it will be interesting to see how it plays out, for the first time in my adult life instead of being actively involved i will be sitting on the sidelines eating my popcorn and watching the blood bath that is politics in the UK ... And for the first time ever i wont stay up for the result ... thats gonna be an interesting turn of events for me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Not that I particularly want to vote for any of them you understand.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Yep me too GG .....my days of voting are finished ....never thougt I would think that way tbh , but there u go
U can always try a proxy vote?0 -
I've found the recent posts by ML to be a little sad - to get to the level of financial success where £1mill+ is just your buffer takes massive commitment and planning. To then say you don't know what you want to do seems to take some of the savouring out of the enjoyment of early retirement.
It's also how fascinating how different lives can be. He *thinks* they can get by on a budget of c. double our entirely after tax salaries! :rotfl:0 -
Yeah I thought so myself as well tbh Ed, I do enjoy that diary though as it really does start to show the emotional part of the journey, not just the facts and figures, I think he's ready now its his partner that's more worried, that has been the case for along while if I remember right , and yep to dream of having that much saved lol
I'm glad he and others are so willing to share though as it helps me be aware of pitfalls etc
Was actually discussing it with Mr El last night0
