i knew there were bonds in those funds but didn't know the names lol ....

Aye that's a good plan Ed i think if Mr El wasn't such a worry wart about money I would consider something like it myself but he needs to feel the house is his so for us paying the mortgage off has to be quite a big priority even though I know we could use our money in better ways etc

    Thanks Beanie :)

well its been hogmany we were in our beds for 9.30 sleeping for approx 10.30 not much to celebrate and we really didnt feel like it ... i did however forget about the fireworks that go off after midnight so we were awoken for that then back to sleep.

Worked the 2nd for 12 hours, then in the third spent the day resting and plotting :) Today Mr El and I intend on sitting down and having a chat about a few things,

Have managed to pay £10 into the mortgage so that's a start atleast :)

Have had a wee chat with Mr El, we discussed what we hoped to change, achieve this year, so far the plans are simple i hope they stay that way lol :)

We discussed finances and with have agreed with my new wage situation it will need to be a case of paying the minimum to bills etc and with any extra putting some of it by for months when we dont have as much coming in and the rest towards either the 0% credit card bill or the mortgage, we will try our best to pay extra off of the mortgage and credit card bill but with me being at uni I dont want to add any more pressure to myself than I need to.

The visa will need to be used only for diesel as i have noticed we have once again became reliant on it, thats not an issue if we have the money coming in, but just now that isnt guaranteed so whilst i get £5 a month for spending £300 and i always did pay it off every month, just now that is no longer guaranteed so i wont be using it anymore. I will need to clear it and think this will take approx 3 months to clear so will have to pay interest for 3 months or so... not something I want but it is what it is.

WE have also decided on a £200 a month spend on food, this means for us that we will need to be more aware of food wastage ( which to be fair we are not too guilty of) also portion size and deals for products.

It's a case of finding our feet again now that I am no longer in receipt of a guaranteed income, I am budgetting on a worse case scenario in that I dont get any shifts at all, I dont think this will be the case though :)

I did notice i had a £79 charge added from Amaz0n Pr1me, I had purchased something and accidentally ticked the box wishing to try their service free for a month, i sent an email stating this was a mistake but some how i was charged £79 for it so i sent another email and recieved a reply stating they recognised it was a mistake and will refund the £79 so thats £79 i wont need to find atleast thankfully.

Still doing my Tilly tidies and using it towards the mortgage but sadly this might be all we use for mortgage payments this year but slowly we will get there :)

Happy New Year El, Mrs E made me stay up for the bells in my actual clothes (no PJs allowed). A bit more subdued than last year, Jackie Bird even wore some clothes for once :rotfl:

I heard it was a sad affair on the telly Ed, is this true ?

well done you for wearing clothes though i'm usually in my p'js myself lol ... we did discuss doing the Stonehaven Hogmany this year but unsure if we will as we did plan on doing the Biggar celebrations for the one just passed but really didnt feel like having the " oh dont worry come May our voice will be heard " "Will it really? are you sure ?" talk with people that we knew would be there, I'm sure there were plenty of people having a ball on our behalf though lol

    You ever done Stonehaven ?

The simpler your plans are, the more likely they are to last long-term. That's not guaranteed though: "Become a millionaire playboy" although simple, hasn't worked well for me.

I'm paranoid about those. All those tickboxes where they say, untick to not take advantage of rejecting the opportunity to not receive our wonderful offer. So do I tick or not?

    I have not, no.

On your political point, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if voices are heard come May. There was an article on the news last night about political modelling and the bookies certainly think that the SNP are good for 25-30 seats at this point. Torn; I voted for independence, but Mrs E (and the majority) didn't. Still, greater representation at the big table can't be a bad thing if we're not getting our own table? :)
