  • Hi El, really sorry to hear this.

On a slightly morepositive note, does it mean you won't be so likely to 'help out' if they call or text you?

Not that this may be a silver lining at all, but it may make it easier to say no perhaps?

Hey all ... Haven't ran away or anything just up to my eyes in this house, we've had to paint some walls 9 times as the colour is just bleeding through and we changed colour as well, the irn bru orange was not working for us :)

We have also had a disaster with the floor, have started a thread in the DIY board looking for help so if anyone know anything about flooring or knows someone that does can u maybe help out if you get the chance

Money wise, it's been crazy how much we've spent, I forget how much is involve in decorating, it's not just the paint buying etc either, we have only ate in 4 times since we started as we've been working away till 8pm every night and don't realistically have a kitchen to work in just now, so lesson learned there is before you take on a big project ensure you have loads of home cooked ready meals that just need zapped in the microwave

Just really got the glossing and floor to go now though so thankfully everything can go back to where it needs to and then the cleaning can begin ( the house is such a mess just now)

And most importantly I can get into my garden

Still not been doing any overtime at work and liking it that way tbh ... Bits it's starting to crush us a bit financially now ( most likely due to the amount we have been spending recently)

Well done on getting stuff done. It will all be worth it in the end.
Hope you feel better soon and that you get stuff sorted in your favour on the work front.
Sorry, I know nothing about floors-but I can relate to how expensive decorating is.
Make sure you find some time for you in all the working and the. Working on the house etc. :)

    Thanks Tatty :)

There is just something so deeply satisfying about spending time in my garden for me ... It's like this magical place that just seems to take all my cares and troubles away ( well for a wee bit anyway :) )

So today we have done nothing in the house, both Mr El and I are scunnered with it for the moment, so we have spent a day lazing about then out to the garden followed by some chatting ... Financial, health, relationship etc

I think I needed today to be just the way it has been :)
  • Sounds like a pretty good day to me x x x
