So with all the pensions excitement going on where am I up to with the floor

Oh just shy of Half way there, 4 days in and nearly Half way there :)

I am planning on being finished by Sunday at the latest ... Then it's gonna be a case of scrub scrub scrub till next Saturday when I'm hoping Mr El will put the first coat on whilst I am at basket making class ( it's a shopping basket this time ) then I will do coat two on Monday and coat three on Wednesday then by the following Friday, just in time fore being night shift I will start to move the furniture back in and then over that weekend ( so two weekends away) hopefully all will be finished with the decorating and then it's the cleaning, that is gonna take me a few weeks to do the stour is everywhere :(

But slowly by the end of April beginning of May it should be done, beforehand attention turns to the garden in earnest :)

Will need to do some planting again shortly though

Kc thanks ( and for the Facebook post as well) it does make a lot of sense, I certainly don't want to be jumping up and knee jerk reacting, but I do think it's good to think about it every now and then ... Although tbh I se to think about it a lot :(
Ooh, I'm intrigued by your pm-ing with GG - tho I confess, I can't understand other people's calculations on here, I've got some brain cells missing or something - talk is fine, but calculations, I turn into a statue :(

If its an idea, though, yes please, me too :rotfl:
Are u planning on retiring to France ?
For some of the time :p i.e., not permanently, but wouldn't mind living in a French holiday village for a few years. Or a camper van.

This is why I'm desperately trying to get all my mulch down - maybe I should say, before the end of this month - so it has a chance to work into the soil, and then I can plant in June, say, to give everything a good chance to make roots before winter :)

Sorry about the length of this :o

Note to self: don't say it, it's just a cheap shot..... oh go on then.....

always suspected you were a basket case El :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Please don't apologise I like a good natter :)

Pension idea isn't much tbh ( although GG and Tilly will be exhausted reading it )

Will forward you what I have if it helps ? It's just our plan ... Certainly not right for everyone ... But should work for us :)

I'm very intrigued with the dark tax and have been giving it some thought tbh

If I were to not include mortgage payments and ISA payments then yes we are there ... But we pay the mortgage etc so it's not feasible just yet ... Note the just yet though :)

Oh forgot to tell you all

Had a visit from TVL ( t.v license people) on Monday, I didn't answer the door as I was night shift ... But it didn't take them long :)

I don't miss the tv at all I must say

Yes please, El, if I can understand it, it will bring me forward - you sound like you've really got your fingers on the pulse.

As for the tv people, I've had 2 or 3 periods of not having one, months at a time, and never a visit - I always unplug the aerial, wind it up like a lasso, and put sticky tape over the socket, so they can see perfectly well its not in use.

Got them and replied, El - and I agree, I'm not happy about them coming into my house - and that made me google it :)http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/about/foi-administering-the-tv-licensing-system-part-2-ab20/

Ta-da! Thats it, they're not coming in :)

My house is driving me crazy ... Went out at the weekend bought a belt sander and more treatment stuff for the floors, belt sander burnt out tonight so we need to get that replaced

I feel like I'm living in a dump, I'm not the most house proud of people but the mess and dust is driving me crazy, this has been going on for over a month now :(

Me El's stress and depression are not doing too good with it all either, so that's another wee stressor to watch out for

Ahhhhhh we will get there I know we will but I tell ya any thoughts ( not that there were any) of building a house have been put so far back they ain't even in the milky way ... I now remember why we don't decorate every couple of months lol

That sounds tough, El - I always think I don't care about my surroundings, and then I tidy up and realise how big an effect it has, to live in clean, tidy surroundings! Hope you've both got the energy to keep going to get it all sorted.
