Just stopped by for a quick catch up, very pleased to read you're not missing the old goggle box, I bet by the end of the month you'll have forgotten what it was like!

I also need to go sugar free as it goes hand in hand with yeast free which I need to do after industrial grade antibiotics and steroids, am intrigued by your mentions of sugar shuffles ... clues, please?

Have you sent in your statement yet, or did I miss that bit?

Anyhow, hope you're warm and dry and good luck with the overtime!:)

Beanie I tried phoning but got stuck on hold so will phone back on Friday when it's my day off

Habibiboo a sugar shuffle is kinda like a Tilly tidy ... Every day I manage not to have sugar I transfer ( shuffle) £1 over to an account of my choosing, I was previously putting towards the mortgage ... Just now it's going towards the visa ... But I fully intend on getting the money back towards the mortgage ASAP ... The idea is as a kindve reward mechanism for it eating sugar :)

Haven't sent the uni form in yet as I want to phone SAAS first but it's all ready to go :)

In other news... I woke up to an email telling that I have an appointment on Monday to get my uniform for my new job and will be able to take shifts from Monday onwards ... Which is handy as my current job is changing again from Feb onwards... And if I get into uni it will be a great bit of experience for me

    It certainly is beanie :)

Well today Mr El cashed in the last of his shares... The reason for this ... The fires are in the shop so we just have to get them delivered and fitted ... We will get more money than expected so that's great :)

I don't like the fact we have had to use savings but we can't get into anymore debt so i would rather use savings

Last night of overtime yay ... I have tomorrow night off before doing another three night shifts

My £5 for having the credit card has arrived ... Used it to pay off a little bit

That's about it for today ... But I'm excited about getting the fires fitted finally :)

Hope the fires are in soon and you are both enjoying cosy evenings in front of them instead of working nights all the time.

  • Hi El, the fires will make such a difference I think. Good luck with Uni, very sensible decision.

Looking forward to hearing stories of cosy evenings reading in front of the fire :)

Hey everyone thanks for the good wishes ... welcome to the diary Tilly :)

have to admit i am looking forward to nestling down in front of the fire with a wee kettle pot bubbling away on the fire, a good book and Mr El strumming his guitar :)

but it appears that my plans will need to wait ... we have been on the phone to the company that we ordered the fires with, they said that they will need to check the fires over first and will phone us back when thats donw so that we can arrange delivery ... that was Thursday ... were still waiting ... have phoned them but they seem to either be engaged or not answering humph ...

ok in financial news ... i have ( as i have already said) transferred all the money onto the credit card that i can .. it works out that our minimum payments every month have to be £180 ish ... i am thinking pay £200 a month minimum ... now that leaves me £300 a month from the £500 left ( from when we were paying off £500 a month from the mortgage) ... now i am considering paying the £300 a month into the mortgage and all Tilly Tidies/ Sugar shuffles transferred over to the visa ... it will mean that at the end of the time we will still owe money on the visa but if we can transfer it at a very low rate then it may work out ok ... i will also be putting any extra from the sale of the shares into the visa ... and any extra money etc that comes our way ...

the aim would be to keep paying something to the mortgage and slowly get that down... also to get the visa down as much as possible ... my origonal plan was to get rid of the visa this year but in order to do that we have to not pay anything ( or not very much ... Tilly tidies/Sugar shuffles etc) to the mortgage ... and i'm gonna be honest i want to concentrate on the mortgage whist still ensuring i am paying as much of the credit card off ... i think Mr El and i will be having a few chats about this subject shortly

In other news ... i have sent away my application for uni :) i just have to wait now to see if i get an interview etc to get in... Mr El has voiced some concerns about me going to uni.. all of which i can see where he is coming from, he wants me to go and he would rather if i went that i didnt work, but he recognises that i need to work, but he is scared because of my health etc and how i was last time at uni ( and really who can blame him there) he is also very worried that with me studying and working there will not be enough time for us and he feels that he doesnt want to go back to where we were ( pre split up)

so we have been having discussions regarding the subject, and they have been helpful for him and me to know where we stand etc ... i have bought a wipe board also and on it i have put all my shifts etc with the view that if i get into uni then i will put assignments classes etc on it as well and that should either of us feel its too much we will discuss and bring forward alternatives... i have a feeling that Mr El may not be happy with me doing a lot of overtime this year and particularly not when i am at uni... and i can see why :)

Mr El has completed building the wood store ( with the exception of having to put some felt on the roof ... it is looking very impressive i must say.

i need to go out next week and buy potting compost for my garden ... i am so excited to be growing this year and cant wait to get started ... but i dont have the simple things like potting compost yet ... so will nip out next week and buy some stuff ... i want to spend a good few hours every week in the garden this year .. i think though as much as it will be important for me to grow things for eating and learn about growing things ... i think it will be just as equally important for my mental stability... my space for me to just be ... not work, no study ... just me in the garden learning and being fascinated by whats going on :)

thats about it for now ... i am on night two of three then off for a good few days, i wont know what to do with myself its been that long

    hope everyone is well :)
