Try reading marksdailyapple.com and the primal blueprint stuff. I reckon that if you keep to it (no grains, no sugar, nowt processed, no pulses) then you should feel a difference in THREE DAYS.

There's a section in there on a 21 day start. And success stories. Well wortha mooch.

oh wow Lilty what a bummer that the docs said that after you had been to the shops....

I am feeling better then I did over the weekend, but got sent home from work earlier as I couldn't count the money to the customers and kept losing my voice every transaction, like i dreaded I think I have laryngitis and the only cure for that is voice rest, I went to the doctors after being sent home to try and get a doctors appointment but was told I would have to ring in betweeen 8 - 9 tomorrow to get a triage call then they can make an appointment, I tried to tell them that as you can hear my voice isn't too strong and telephone calls are not practical right now to be told thats how it works... so off I popped back home, via the butcher as I normally finish work too late so thought I would take the opportunity to grab some more meat for my slow cooker especially as I'm still suffering with my legs, its a lot easier to set going and leave, I left with three trays of chicken breasts for £20 and a BOGOF of lamb chops, so I have spent the last half hours dividing them into freezer bags to put straight into the freezer.

I now have to wait till tomorrow to try and get a doctors appointment but as much as I'm hoping he just says its a virus cold Im also sure he will say laryngitus and that means at least a week of work, the issue with this is I am now on half pay sick pay due my extended sick leave after my hip replacement so I will only be getting half the pay I would do if I was working but I suppose if i can't count out money and speak to customers I can't affectively do my job....

ho hum will have to budget like made to see if I can get my way out of this, (Yay for Dave Ramseys emergency fund idea)

so bit of a mixture type of day....

I love you. Truly I do. Spent all day looking for just one thing that wasn't so Atkins it depressed the life out of me. This is great and just what I needed.

I very much like the 'What to eat' pyramid. And the 'what not to eat' being made up of 'try to avoid poisonous things' :rotfl:

In order to help my migraine I have to hit ketosis. I can do this in 3 days easily and this will happen... but I will bounce in and out of it as I get to grips and deal with the fat and toxins starting to burn. Ironically it gives me a terrible headache that just cannot be shifted for a few days and I have to really fight to keep going through that because then I feel great. once I hit 6 weeks I will be well on my way to easily maintaining it and knowing what knocks me out of ketosis. Can you tell I've done this before? NOA I am not so much a Yo-Yo dieter as I have only ever tried one diet and it was India & Neris's healthy eating. That was a low carb diet and it did help me but I found it so hard to maintain the state needed to lose weight that I got bored and just gave up. I did lose a stone on it though.

As for my weight loss goal. If I tell you I need to lose 35 pounds will you cry with me? I'd much rather not do it this way but if this has the side-effect of knocking the migraines on the head without taking the supermeds designed to do that for me then I am all for less pills and more diet!

Tonight I had planned to make a lentil and beef bolognese with 750gms of mince I started defrosting yesterday which just wouldn't defrost in time for dinner so I ended up going down the pasta with a healthy homemade sauce route. So you can imagine my horror at trying to find a low low low carb version... or a low carb anything. So I made a giant bolognese as expected, siphoned off some of the meat/onions/celery to my own little oven dish and covered it in greek yoghurt/spinach/flax and a good sprinkle of cheese and baked it in the oven. Him can eat bolognese for a few weeks ;) I also made a miniature bolognese from scratch for Jellytot too which she refused.

Little horror tonight, so overtired was she! She had coloured in her brand new £30 Clarkies trainers in blue felt tip which may as well just be indelible ink the ones that nursery provide. Not to mention her lips were green and her hands were a mix of green and blue. :wall: anyways she is in bed and I am relaxing but really itching to go out and walk. Restless legs syndrome. Now is the time I need an exercise bike, if only I could sit on one for more than a minute without much back pain!!

Anyways I have wittered on aplenty.

Have a good one folks xx

Oh wow Lilt, that diet sounds hard but I'm sure you can stick to it, you have iron willpower! :T

It's horrible when you get on the scales and get a big shock isn't it? I'm at the heaviest I've ever been and need to lose at least 21 pounds. :( I had to buy some new scales today as my old ones were telling me I was 3 stone. :rotfl: Like to have a weekly weigh in to make sure I'm actually losing weight to spur me on.

:rotfl: at dressing Jelly in her Peppa Pig stuff for nursery only, I think that's quite sensible really. :rotfl:

Lilty hope this diet does the trick for you - going to research it too, as a completely different diet may shift some weight. Did you mention to Doc about Jelly seeing a consultant? Xx

I like that mda allows dark choc! And cream. I have remained grain and sugar free today and am feeling good! Yesterday I just had about 6 (ish!) hm profiteroles, but after 2 I knew they were a bad choice... Yep, I still carried on with them.. Twonk!

I do do dairy, but not milk and rarely'plain yog. So, butter, cream, cream cheese, some cheese - yum!

I havr a standard breakfast, so don't habe to start making morning decisions. Forgive me if it sounds yukky! 3 scrambled eggs (yep, in butter), 100g cottage cheese and 10g or so of ground almomds. Morning snack is 2-3 oz of a mix of almomds, cashews and brazils and an apple, for something sweeter. Lunch is ideally a soup - super thick - of 5 veggies + a hefty protein dollop (ham, chicken, hb egg, cott ch).

Dinner is protein + produce again. 10 veg total for the day is ideal, 8 is acceptable!

But, being coeliac, thinking beyond starches and grains has become almost normal. Ha ha - I'm associating the word 'normal' with myself!! :rotfl:

I reckon 3 days to feel better - but NO CHEATING, and 2 weeks to weight loss and bundles of energy.

Anyhoo, dd has been asleep for 15 mins now, so I'm off to live the high life and read my book.

Have you been drugging her apple :rotfl: or is this sunshine wearing her out more? Glad you are getting some me-time :)

My Doctor is actually following the diet she wants me on, for migraines and told me NO fruit. And I have to stick to dark green veggies. Because veg actually has rather a lot of carbs when you look at it. And trying to stay under 20 a day to stay in ketosis is HARD. But as sashybo says. I have IRON willpower and a hell of a lot to lose. I think I will go to the Dr's on a Monday morning after dropping the lady off each week and have a play on the height/weight/BP machine :) that way I can see if I have dropped any weight but am not a slave to the scales at home. :)

Amber Run - NOAH. Am loving this song at the minute.

Ooh nearly forgot. BILLIE a change is as good as a rest they say ;) and I forgot to mention Jelly but I need to take her in to have her own appointment. I did mention my early cancer screening and she has chased this up for me :) xxx
