Buyer wanted combined postage but paid for all items before I could send invoice

if it's by a small amount then no big deal - keep the buyer happy and keep your 5*
Personally I would refund the postage on one of the payments.
Let me say it again.
"Why should the seller be out of pocket for the buyer's incompetence?"
If it is no big deal, then let the person who made the mistake, pay the cost.0 -
I have just tried to do 2 'buy it now' that should have had a discount for the p&p on the 2nd item ........
try as I may I could not do it :-(
so before the original poster takes advice like the last post ! stop and think .....
I have contacted the seller to try and sort things out so hopefully it will work out .....
"Road_Hog" with advice like that you would probably be my third neg in over ten years of buy / selling

There's a "request invoice from seller" button in the basket.0 -
so you are saying I need to put the items in the basket first ??

So what you are saying is, you made the mistake, you expect me to pay for your mistake and you'll give me a neg if I don't?
Do you see where the whole ebay thing is going wrong?0 -

If I do a partial refund, and send all the items in one package, I'm not covered by paypal then?0

Partial refunds are nothing to do with protection.
To get Paypal protection you need to qualify by sending the items within 7 days of payment, to the address in the Paypal transaction via a means with online tracking.
*there are other provisos, but I am guessing this fits the normal criteria.0 -

But she's paid for 3 separate items, which means she's covered by paypal for 3 transactions. If I do a partial refund and send as one parcel, then a claim could be raised on 2 items?0 -

How are you sending them?
If you are using a trackable method then you assign the tracking number to ALL 3 transactions.0
