The iPhone 5 is no longer available apparently

The 5 is effectively replaced by the 5c, its more or less the same internals but with a plastic case rather than the metal one with a minor price drop.

5C's are reportedly not selling well and you may get a better deal on one than a 5S, but then this is Apple and bargains are often hard to come by on Apple products.

Since this is a money saving advice site, you could stick with the iPhone 4 and convert to a SIM only deal for a period of time, which would probably be something like £15/month (or less if you get something like Ovivo).

If you felt so inclined, you could save up the difference towards a new iPhone in a few months time. They'll probably have an iPhone 6 by then.

Me, I've got an iPhone 5 and an iPhone 4, and I've not really found anything in particular that makes the 5 a "must have" over the 4, and I even prefer the size of the 4 over the 5.

Beware of going for the current new 4S which Apple have kept in the range, as they're only making it with 8 GB now, and that just plain is not enough.
