I assume that I will lose the outgoing server on the last day of my contract - but incoming servers can be set up via alternative sources ?
So I should be able to receive emails for longer than sending them ?

Standard reply is that you may not lose any incoming email services until some time in the future .
But that does vary as usual is a block cut off of dead accounts .
My Tiscali account took two years to die but the F2S account took six months .

It's not possible to say when you will lose email access, but assume it will be on the date your service ends.

I have heard from TTB - denying that they treat old customers any differently than new customers
I have asked to be dealt with by RETENTIONS !

My Tiscali e-mail is still alive and kicking! I left Talktalk in 2011, about a year after they took over Tiscali.

Never liked it, people just can't spell tiscali.
