It's ok, it's like any thermos type pot. If it's not heated properly it cools quickly. Let me do a test over the weekend and I'll let you know how hot it stays for how long. Would that help?0

I love this lunch box. I has an icepack that fits inside as a shelf and then 2 seperate compartments and it fits perfectly in this little thermal bag.
