Local waste dump charging for DIY waste

Visited our local waste/recycling site in Oxfordshire this morning with some rubble (to be put in rubble container not landfill) and told there is now a charge for DIY waste. You can dump 3 items a month (an item is 1 bag of rubble or soil or a sink?toilet/shower screen or piece of carpet) and after that there is a charge. £5 for a car with rubble in the back.
This DIY waste is not classified as household waste and they are not obliged to take it.
Is this the same in other areas? I wonder how will they police it and if it will just lead to more fly tipping.

Our council introduced similar charges recently. Makes you wonder how exactly people will choose to get rid of the waste when they renovate their gardens etc. Grr.

If charges become the norm it'll be worth buying a house with a few acres of land and "doing a deal" with the locals..

I've noticed my local tip is closed a few days more a week now, cut backs hey.:(

It is usually this extra cost which makes them back down after 18 months of so. I've seen these charges come and go.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Three free loads a month doesn't sound too bad (as long as you know before you go...). But - how do they know? Do they make you register and sign in each time? That procedure must cost them a fortune.

So 2 car households can get away with dumping more.

our dump records the reg of vehicles sometimes. unsure what they do with it. local jobs-worth at our dump tried to say we were trade just cause we dumped 3 transits of wood/rubble in a 3 month period. We were doing major renovation work. We complained to head of recycling at council...got an apology back. that was 3 years ago now.

Stick an ad on Gumtree or your local Freegle/Freecycle site. Someone will take it away for nothing.

Btw, did they say how big the bag could be ?.
