Just to let people know that it looks like the £10 Christmas bonus will be paid sometime next week.
i got a letter today saying it will be paid by Dec 3rd but it seems a bit early this year.
the letter was dated 23rd Nov so looks like they did a scan last saturday to work out who gets it.

can hardly wait lol
to think this bonus was £10 in the early 70s when £10 actually bought something0 -

£10.00 is £10.00, and it's a bonus not a given.

Well £10 each for DH and I means I can pay for 2 more hours of care at his Alzheimer's club (£9 per hour), and buy a coffee and mince pie at our church "Winterval", so I'm very grateful.
This is something that could have been cancelled, but hasn't, and as such I'm thankful to still get it.

As they say there are always others that need it more than you do!!!
We both donate our £10's to the Sally Ann every year.0 -
If one partner gets the 10.00 then does the person that receives the CA allowance also get 10.00? X0

We've never had a letter about this, but got our £10 each in our bank account today. Time to stop this I think.
Both it and the winter fuel allowance should be added to the basic state pension, where they would be taxed if applicable.0 -

Oh I so fully agree!!
Completely outdated and not needed in today's modern world.
Spread your annual fuel cost over 52weeks/12 months/13, 4 weeks. Put aside that amount every time and you will have enough to cover the fuel bill for the year. Get onto a direct debit with the fuel provider.
Do the same with all of your other bills so that a fixed total goes out each period leaving you with money to spend as you wish.
Do that and you won't even need the Winter Fuel Allowance or the Cold Weather payment or even the £10 bonus.0
