At last everyone, we have news about SPARKY!!!! I got in touch with sparky and his Wife last night and here's her reply:
"Sparky has not been too well, he had a bad bout of the flu which raised complications with his asthma and caused respiratory problems. He's on the mend now just needs lots of rest, antibiotics, steroids & inhalers. It's been a bit of worry here but were over the worst of it now. Thank you so much for your concern. I'm sure once he's back on his feet that he will be in contact with you."
So, all the very best to you, sparky, for a very speedy recovery and return to SPC. :grinheartdiddley wrote:I love this thread. My daughter is an avid mse-ER and I couldn't understand why she was always doing challenges. But they are so addictive.
Today I've potted £30 , that's what was left from my own grocery challenge last week. I didn't realise that I used to buy/spend just for the sake of being in a supermarket, but flippy eck I'm glad I've had my lightbulb moment.
I'm so delighted for you, diddley, you're doing wonderfully and it's always good to hear how folk love challenges, especially SPC!You have a very canny lass as a Daughter, just goes to show how they can teach us at times too. Have a perfect evening with the little ones - and great saving!!
ModestyB wrote:Thanks for the best wishes for DD. We fetched her home last night, waiting till next time they have her in.
Found 2p roadkill today, also saw a 5p coin but some b****r beat me to it.
I was so pleased your DD's home now, Modesty, though saddened also by the following part of your post, but as ever you give some humour with it also by the blighter who nabbed your 5p. Stay well and strong.
It's lovely to know you spared a thought for the person who lost the £10er, jakes-mum, but well done in re-homing it. I hope Lily's soon much better.
That's it, Observer, keep potting. Good to have you drop in on us.Betsie2010 wrote:42p today I want to breK in and see how much there is!!
NO Betsie!!!!! It's precious and the contents need to be preserved. Treat it as a bomb that'll explode IF you dare touch it.....apart from adding more to it. Now, leave it be and exercise control!!
A £6 PB is just amazing, hummingbird!!! :jKeep trying to do better.
Ahh, that's so good to hear about your Nephew, 32b3, I hope he's recovering well. Thanks a lot on my savings, much appreciated.
All best wishes that your car won't be too costly, Hicks, fingers crossed for you. Easily done isn't it.Meowhouse wrote:Well saving all my change today just incase I need it for the hosp tommorow as I have a scan this will then hopefully tell the docs that I am in remission fingers crossed........
Will pot anything that's left tommorow night
Yes some may say that we all have a a little bit of something crazy in our brains...... Shaking, prodding and weighing tins ??:D:D:D
But we are all in it together !!!! And we all love this happy place ...... :T :T:T. :T
All good wishes that you'll be clear, Meowhouse, a horrible time to have to go through...but not if it's good news at the end. Wishing you well for exactly that!!
I hope your lads feel a whole lot better tomorrow, braddy.
Oh my word, LC 2, there's a place called cloud cuckoo land and you're right in it!! :rotfl:
Not a bad outcome all things considered, WishICouldFindMySlippers, and you're doing so very well with saving.
Keep going, evuka!! You're doing terrifically this time so stay strong! :j
It's never miserly, AlwaysHappy, any and all amounts save up to become part of a great Total. Keep with it!
Not to worry, Indie Kid, move on and promise yourself it won't happen again - as your pot couldn't stand it.
Oh I do hope the IVF works for you, Loveactually, please let us know and you never know about the bonds!Take care, folk, keep safe, healthy and a lovely day!
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.

Just popping in to say I potted £2.40 at the weekend. And then saw your post Loveactually.Loveactually wrote: »Did not pot anything this month and next month also may be difficult.
I started my ivf after a long wait of one year and what to make sure I try everything to make it work.
So I am having acupuncture appointments once a week, prescription charges and cabs to and fro from hospital as I wanna be back to work without much delay and if I take public transport it will be two hours.
Will start potting again from April.
I did open an ns&i premium bond with £200 from my previous savings if I win anything I will pot that money :rotfl:
Just wanted to say good luck with the IVF. Our little IVF miracle baba is now 9 months old. So I know what you're going through. Don't want to offer any cliches but stay positive. And sending you best wishes. xxxSPC 18 Target £200 /0 -

First of all I'm soo glad to hear that Sparky is okay and sorry to hear that he's been so poorly. That's the problem with our systems eh - we never know what the knock-on effect is going to be.
On the same theme I hope all the sprogs that are poorly soon get better - this time of year is awful for bugs and you can't even get them out in the sunshine to help the healing.
My thoughts and best wishes go to all those dealing with hospital related stuff and fingers xd it all works out good.
Seem to have solved the probs with system - have bought a new cheap phone and so far so good
Tree looking a bit happier now it's been fed and watered after my hols and regular £1 going in :rotfl:
Still on the 2 cigs after dinner (2nd week) so hope to cut those after this week. If I manage then all I've saved this month will go in the pot and then the whole lot in the bank (don't like much money in the house) and then will earn a little interest on it as well
Hope you all have a great Thursday

Thanks Sue UU, am suitably chastised!!;)
It's just so addictive trying to save the pennies and it would be nice to know how well it was going. Still the pot is getting heavier and it will be a great surprise when it gets opened

Morning all, hope all are well.
Nice to hear news of Sparky. Get well soon and best wishes
Loveactually - yes, good luck with the IVF.How do we get gold stars Sue?
But Sue gives them away for free for nice welcomes and helping out etc.
I potted 2 x nice £2 coins and single 20p coin = £4.20 potted.
This time next week I should be on a plane (if not delayed), so no potting until the following Thursday. I'm hoping for another £20+ by then. Hoping I can get to £400+ by the end of March to give an average of £100 per month.
Take care all.

Im still potting a much as I can, as often as I can, just don't have access to the internet at home for a while, hopefully I will get things sorted soon.
Things are a bit up in the air here. My 13 year old son has just been diagnosed with Dyspraxia so trying to get my head around that as well as sorting out paperwork ready to file for divorce in May. Add to that Im totally redecorating and Im also studying for a childcare qualification and its all go here at the moment.
Must dash as my times nearly up...
Hope everyones keeping well and sending hugs to those that need them xxxSealed Pot Challenge #101
