Was tidying out the welsh dresser with OH this afternoon, and found an old tin of mine full of loose change from when I used to hoard my change! To say I was excited is a bit of an understatement! There was £5.20 in in it small silver change! OH demanded some of it for the car parking tub in the car, so gave him £2 of change and potted the remaining £3.20 in my pot.

Very pleased with myself, didn't think there was any change left lurking in the house, just goes to show what I know :rotfl:

Happy potting all, and welcome to all the lovely new potters :)
  • Hi folks. Ive not potted anything for these last two days. Ive not been out of the house due to being under the weather so I've had NSDs :D
I still have £8 of my budget to last me until Sunday evening & with no plans for the weekend, I doubt I'll spend much so whatever is left I'll pot :D

Does everyone have see through pots like me or do people have pots where they can't see how much money they have?

I was wondering that also Samtoby :)

I had to pinch DS1's electronic counting bank that is see through as I couldn't find anything else.

So far its showing as £47.82 but it counted a couple of £1 coins as 10ps so should have more than that.

Don't know if I would be better off not being able to see what is there so temptation doesn't get the better of me.;)

Good afternoon everyone and a Happy New Year!

My first post and pot of the new year! :D

£2 to pot as I didn't go to C0sta, despite walking past it twice and seeing there was no queue on either occasion. :o

Excellent saving and self discipline, Vicky!!!!! :T I get so proud of SPCers who do that sort of thing....or who make their own lunch. Imagine what you'd save over a year IF you normally went there, say, once a week! Worth thinking about rather than lining the pockets of others. ;)

What a find, Eyebright!! :j OH demanded some of it??? I bet he used to moan at you for hoarding eh! Well done and seriously, a good idea with him having some for parking.

I'm hoping for the best for you and your pot, Cauliflower. :j

Well done, chocalicious, that was quick! :D

Thanks so much, starnac. I knew it was lucky which is why I selected it. Well, sounds good anyway. :(

    Great potting as ever, skilly.

Absolute truth, jakes-mum! :p Gis a muffin in exchange for that star eh?

Have a great evening, everyone, and a brilliant weekend.

PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. :D Please change numbers ASAP folks.

If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!

    Very many thanks indeed.

    Sue x

Everyone is doing so well, considering we are just getting over Christmas.:j
OH went back to work yesterday.Today children and I are having a home day.I told them we really did need to get this house in some sort of order,so,we spent 3 hours today tidying (15 man-hours,and the place doesn't look much different :rotfl:)
I got around to seeing what money I had leftover from December's budget-£90.88 :D
So,I paid the 2 older children £5 for their work this morning(they don't get regular pocket money,so they were thrilled).
Then I paid myself a bit of money back that I'd spent for Christmas ,then still had £23.88 left to feed my pot.THEN I started to feel bad that I hadn't allocated the 7- and 4-yo pocketmoney for their help this morning(because they treat money as a toy:gets carried around, chucked around, lost in toy-boxes,given to big brother when he tries to sell them stuff 018.gif ).
So for the little two I have held back a £5 note, and potted the other £18.88 (which was mostly £1 coins and the younger kids would have just lost).
Going to go back to the "repaid Christmas money" and get another £5 for them, and save it for them in envelopes or something.Should be a lovely surprise for them when they say they desperately want something, but haven't got any money(car, house, uni fees, etc :rotfl::rotfl:)
