Just potted 2.16 yesterday though my jar already has some coppers in it from last year... Mine is a see through holding pot and the sealed one is also glass (need to decorate a bit) but I'm sure I cannot count just by looking at it
I also have £2 in a separate jar and 50p in a third one LOL I'm going to collect 50p's and 5p's together, love their shape and size... and they need to go separately...am I a bit OCD perhaps? But they will all count at the end of the challenge!

Morning all (just), just want to welcome more newbies - good luck all and to catch up as it makes it easier than to catch up with 10 pages. lol
Pot?
Mine is a simple cardboard whisky carton (70cl one and holds approx £680 with £2, £1, 50p and 20p coins (all I save). I can't see inside, but I like to weigh it. Each kg means I have over £100. lol
Maybe no potting for myself today!!

Of course you can join us, farmville. A very warm welcome to you. :grinheart Have fun saving, posting and enjoying the banter. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1of page 1. *Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.
A gold star to you, Jo, on a lovely welcome. :staradmin
A gold star to you as well, jakes-mum, for all the FB sales help. :staradmin
Brilliant saving, Tom!!! :j
WOW samtoby! What a difference between A!di and other supermarkets! Our local one vanished and it's now too far to go to.
Cars are a typical stash away place, Ryan_f, well done on clearing yours and potting the finds.Nikkiclaire wrote: »Can I ask a question - are we meant to total up our seale pot as we go along on our signature or just wait until we empty it - just want to do same as everyone else. Thanks
I know Ruth's already answered your question, Nikkiclaire, but for everyone else (who didn't read the 1st post of page 1) no, you're not meant to, it's up to each to do whichever they choose. Most pot it and wait for the surprise, but some like Lynsey and Ruth keep a running total. It's purely personal.
Good for you with your pot and cash, emmlouie.
You're doing well, mooomin.
Good luck with the loft and fleabay, valkirn.cattysmum wrote:Evening, I have just caught hubby putting money from fish and chip money change ( that he paid for) into my sealed pot but don't know how much:( I don't want to start quizzing him re how much, as it may put him off contributing any more to my pot. I have put a pound in today as well:)so may even reach a ten pound pot by end of the week:)
Very wisely dealt with, cattysmum. It's always best to keep schtum. Apart from that, every penny doesn't have to be counted, we only say the amounts potted on here to motivate ourselves and others.
mrsbee wrote:Managed to pot £2.72 today - £2 down the side of a chair, 2p in a pocket and 70p under the bed (how did that get there).
Thanks to everyone who's posting - it's really encouraging to hear what everyone is potting. Can't believe I've got nearly a fiver after 2 days from money that I just hadn't noticed . Going to try and forget how much I've potted now as I'm hoping for a fab surprise in November.
Excellent saving, mrsbee, just goes to show how fast it can accumulate and how motivated we all get, though how the 70p got in your bed - for services rendered maybe! :rotfl:
Oi, less of the cheek, starnac - good to see you saving again.
No, I wasn't referring to you or to jakes-mum, little_sweetie, as what she was doing was helping another member out which, to my mind, is most certainly on topic as it relates to money and is very MSE. So, not you, I promise!
Great going, Delilahh, and lovely to see you back.Hollygym wrote:Potted £2 today, but not happy  as we met up with friends today and I managed to spend £11 on 4 drinks in the caf!!!
I knew that we would end up doing this, and took sweets from the children's selection boxes to avoid the extortionate costs of a piece of cake (it always grieves me to pay for cake as I know it would cost me less to make a whole cake than it does for a single slice!!).
I'm off visiting family this weekend - a luxury away from the constraints of DD1's swimming on Saturday eve and Sunday morning, and DS 1 &2's Sunday rugby!! Looking forward to a break, I will just have to be careful and not to be vulnerable to snacks and convenience food en route!!! Will sort out a budget of £150 incl diesel and hope to pot any change
An excellent idea, Hollygym, which I'm sure will help other young Mums too. Enjoy your break.
As if I'd have forgotten you, fingersxed.Meowhouse wrote:Well my sister has just left and it appears that my nattering about my SPC has rubbed off - she has been to the shop this morning and bought herself 2 sealed tins :j
One for odd bits of change and one to save £1 a day - so very proud of her - but now the gloves are off to see who has the biggest pile! In the best possible sisterly love way!
Oh look out now, Meowhouse, there's nowt like competition to speed up the saving, may the best gal win! :happylove:happyloveMissE001 wrote:I'm delighted to report that I got a beautiful personalised terramundi pot from my lovely DD - think my SPC last year inspired her. I', soooo pleased - it's just gorgeous.
Quick question Sue - can you get notes out using the trusty ruler or just coins?
I certainly wouldn't, MissE, we put ours in the chicken who's bottom unscrews. Must be a male as it's never bunged up with eggs! :rotfl: It sounds as though your DD made the perfect choice. :A Happy New Year to you!
That's fine, MalhamCat, quite understandable. Well done with the biscuits.....I think.
Ooooooooh what a treat, bladerunner! I guess the friend can borrow the car again! :cool:glassy2010 wrote:Ive just managed to catch up on all these posts, I can see myself being cross eyed by the end of the year and needing my pot for lazer eye surgery lol
My other half has seen me saving and has started a pot of her own but she will probably empty it at the first sign of a sale on shoes!
Rubbish, glassy, she's a woman and will saver wonderfully, though shoes.......? :happyloveRe your top line, I never thought of that, start saving for lazer surgery, folks!!
I wouldn't normally say this, Emily, but in this instance - well done, I think you opted for the wise choice.
I hope you had a really lovely Birthday, dinglefoot.
No Lynne, I wasn't referring to you either, honest. I thought you put helpful bits in yours anyway.
Very shrewd, frugaldances, I hope DD's feeling much better soon.
WOW, a bargain indeed, lucyhope! :j Be sure to thoroughly enjoy yourself.
Good forward planning, ALM!!
Good potting, evuka, though whether you're a bit ocd about the coins I couldn't say. :silenced:
Just a simple cardboard whisky carton, Lynsey, yet it holds ALL that savings!!
Don't you be worrying, Sams, you're not alone....I promise you.We need to have patience, we'll get our times.
Have a great day, folks, and a lovely weekend.
PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. Please change numbers ASAP folks.
If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!
Very many thanks indeed.
Sue x

Good afternoon everyone and a Happy New Year!
My first post and pot of the new year!
£2 to pot as I didn't go to C0sta, despite walking past it twice and seeing there was no queue on either occasion.
Welcome to all the new potters. My pot is opaque and sealed. I don't want temptation to get in my way - I'd just obsess over it! :rotfl: I like the idea of people hiding their pots in cupboards... mine may make it's way in there!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -

I have to keep a running total or i will go potty and even have a spreadsheet set up.
Wot i do is allocate £10 a day to cover canteen food and 10 ciggies and any coins left over at the end of the day goes in the bowl, each thursday I count and add the total up.Sealed pot member 095 SPC No 7 £578.32
