Happy birthday to redrubys DD. Hope she has a fabulous day xx
Just back from Xmas shopping, went to meadowhall and it was rammed , things are so expensive too  still I've managed a few nice things
Need to do some online learning now, it's a requirement for work , I did a module last night which said it would take 35 minutes and it took almost 2 hours !!! Got 26 to do too
Have a good day xx0 -
Afternoon All,
Beautiful day here, hard to believe it is the end of November!
TTFTM - look after yourself, you don't want to be poorly with Christmas coming.
Laura - I'm sure mum is glad to be getting home.
Molly - BIG HUGS, you deserve them.
NMLC - so sorry to hear about theft and all the inconvenience it is causing. Thing that bugs me most is if thieves were caught they would get slap on wrist and told not to be naughty again! Makes my blood boil.
Redruby - happy birthday to DD, hopes she has a fab day!
Have a poorly DGS here today. He arrived last evening with a rising temperature and a bit of a cough. He gradually got worse so the magic Calpol came out which seemed to help. He had a very broken sleep but did lie on this morning. No nursery today and hopefully he will be fit and well by tomorrow.
Christmas tree, lights and decorations all went up yesterday and all feeling festive here.
Have a good day everyone :beer:0 -

I'm feeling so tired today, NJL I also need a couple of extra hours. I suspect the new medication for Neuralgia is to to blame. Not much chance as I'm out with dh but might try and catnap:D
...
I really need to get back to my crocheting. I really enjoy it and I need something to keep me busy until after my op, whenever that may be.
Thanks, Julie - it's nice to know I'm not the only one. Meds are horrible things sometimes, aren't they? I hope the side effects wear off for you soon. My PDoc is working with me to reduce the dose of the one that makes me so tired. It used to be I felt like carp *every* morning with the occasional OK morning. Now I feel good most morning with the occasional carp one. Hope you managed that nap - I did and I'm feeling better for it.Bitsy_Beans wrote: »... Am rather more than a little excited at our new sofas being delivered today. Our old one finally given up the ghost but despite it being expensive at the time it's lasted 16 years so can't complain. New one isn't cheap (not DFS or anything like that) was made in UK too so am happy to pay more if it's good quality. Now all I have to do is keep cat from scratching at it and the dog from using it as a bed  ...
If you find a way to stop the cat scratching it, please do tell me! Sammy-cat prefers my favourite chair and the hall carpet to the scratching posts (and we have *three* of those!)...Its my lovely dd's Birthday today :bdaycake: 19 years  where did that time go ? ...
I think I made a mistake going back to work yesterday, the coughing and runny nose have become even worse and I think I have pulled a muscle in my tummy and back from coughing so much its agony every time I cough, also how can the human body make so much snot ? :pits never ending. I shall pop into the pharmacy today to see if they can give me anything....
Happy birthday to your daughter, Redruby. I do hope the chemist can give you something to help - you sound like you should be in bed, not at work!
My day is going better. The freezer arrived at the exact same time as my father was phoning to say that my mum's home. So that's good on both counts.
The freezer looks good where I'd planned to put it, has no scratches and is now sitting settling before I switch it on to cool for 24 hours and then start filling itM is also sitting settling but I think she's heading for bed as she's very tired. I think I'll have to go and collect a prescription for her later this afternoon so I'll see her when I take the pills in and they're going to give me a fridge thermometer so I can set the thermostat properly.
The Risotto is in the (other) freezer (hereinafter referred to as the everyday freezer as opposed to the chest freezer which is for longer-term storage) and the Carrot & Thyme Sauce (which became Carrot, Leek and Thyme Sauce while I was making it) is in the slow cooker. The DW is doing its thing and laundry's up to date.
Weird not to have hospital visiting this afternoon and I'm not quite sure what to do with myself (I'm a routines person). I think a hot chocolate and feet up with a magazine might be on the cards.Household: Laura + William-cat

Hoppy Birdday Miss Redruby.
GWS wishes for all who need them today.:coffee::coffee::coffee:<--- hot lemon & honey; I'll leave the whisky bottle for those who want a drop of that in it also.;)
NJL I'm so glad Sammy doesn't mind his treatment; reminds me of little Sidny; he had to have insulin injections twice daily, and Mr LW just used to say to him "come here, old chap, have your injeculation" (his dad's word, apparently) and Sidders would sigh resignedly, and come up to Mr LW to have it done.:oHard_Up_Hester wrote: »LW, is it tomorrow you have a furry visitor, Amber, is it?In some respects I am positive but it has reminded me of all I have lost - namely my beloved Midwifery which I will never get back.Bitsy_Beans wrote: »Now all I have to do is keep cat from scratching at it and the dog from using it as a bed :eek:When we got our new sofa, the first thing I did way buy a throw to put on it, because a large proportion of my guests are allowed on the furniture at home, so I can't expect them to stay off ours.:o How is Lovely Luna, btw? I met the Jack Russell who lives across the Close for the first time yesterday - lovely little lass, name of Kira.:o

NJL and Bitsy I'm Jealous of your new things, we desperately need a new couch and a dryer that doesn't sound like a jumbo jet
Meant to mention, The Mirror has a £5 voucher off for Aldi Today
Sorry you're feeling jealous, Julie and I hope you can get what you need soon. I've wanted a chest freezer for *ages* and this is a Christmas/BDay present from M&D.
Do you know the price of The Mirror and what the terms are for the voucher i.e. £5 off what size of minimum spend? Got less than £5 left in this week's budget but would get one for me and one for M&D if it's not £5 off £200 spent by tomorrow and including a golden dragon and a butterfly or anything daft like that!Household: Laura + William-cat

Not Buying it 2015!0 -
Went and bought the Scottish Daily Mirror ('cause I'm in Glasgow). It has a big Aldi advert but no voucher or anything so I checked the website and found:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/money/quids-in/christmas-bargains-aldi-cash-queens-2857890
Which says it's £10. But I can't find The Cash Queens or any mention of it in the paper.
Can anyone tell me which page the voucher's on? I've been through it three times ...Household: Laura + William-cat

Luna is fine thanks. She turns 2 next month  can't say she acts any more grown upI love her dearly but heavens the mess she creates......it's a good job she's so cute lets put it that way.
BB if it's any consolation I would have bought second hand if we could have found one we liked. It is only our second sofa from brand new and hubby's redundancy money has helped to pay for it
Julie if you're desperate for a new couch and aren't too fussy could you maybe try free cycle? For the dryer too?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
