Not posted the last couple of days, been busy but not seemed to have achieved much.

Plans today - out to get car washed then off to the garage to see if can part exchange against a new more economic model - not sure if will be possible but we will see.

Once home spend some serious time in the office then an hour of ironing and an hour decluttering my bedroom which is actually looking horrific at the moment

    Morning all,

a busy one today as I'm meeting a friend for coffee, going in to get DH's present while taking advantage of Boots' extra points offer and finishing off the marking.
A nice young man emailed yesterday - would I like some extras? well, it would be rude to say no, so that's another little wodge into the kitty.

DS2 has his driving test today, the first of the brood to learn. I can't say anything, I don't drive either. He was pushed into it as his new job is an hour on the bus (through pretty countryside) or 25 minutes in a car. Unlike me he does know his left from his right, so I hope he passes.

Mum's 80th birthday this weekend, then I can put my head into Christmas mode.

    Hugs all round x
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Morning all

A day in home for me today, DH is home too as we are meant to be having the builders here repointing the house, they were supposed to be here at 8:30.... I'm still waiting for them to arrive, I hate waiting for people.

Dinner tonight is toad in the hole and veg.. its all prepared and ready to go, housework is done, wm is on so going to continue wrapping a few presents whilst dh gets on with cleaning the animals out, so thats our day sorted, not very exciting altho I must admit I do love having dh home with me in the week, its nice to just sit and have lunch together

Hope those feeling poorly feel much better soon, good luck with the curry TTFTM

Have a good day all xx

    Morning all,

Hugs for those feeling poorly, tired or just fed up x

I'm feeling so tired today, NJL I also need a couple of extra hours. I suspect the new medication for Neuralgia is to to blame. Not much chance as I'm out with dh but might try and catnap:D
We need to call at Smiths toy shop later as a couple of the granny's have given us money and asked us to buy presents for DGS so must do that.
Last night ds2 and gf came for tea , we just had pizza pasta and salad which was good ( gf for me) and he had a long discussion with his dad about his new business and some more equipment he needs. He should be up and running soon which is exciting.
Dd and bf turned up later, their had been out for a meal. So not a restful evening but I wouldn't be without any of them.
Our son in Australia is doing fine and baby Amelia is getting bigger every day, she's beautiful.
I really need to get back to my crocheting. I really enjoy it and I need something to keep me busy until after my op, whenever that may be.
Something quick for tea tonight as the boys are at football.
And I must WRAP THE PRESENTS sorry for shouting but I've been doing it every day this week!
    Have a great Thursday x

  • Morning everyone :)

Am rather more than a little excited at our new sofas being delivered today. Our old one finally given up the ghost but despite it being expensive at the time it's lasted 16 years so can't complain. New one isn't cheap (not DFS or anything like that) was made in UK too so am happy to pay more if it's good quality. Now all I have to do is keep cat from scratching at it and the dog from using it as a bed

Other plans include housework, making choc brownies and dog walking.
Not sure what's for tea yet, haven't decided.

Right had better pull my finger out.

Molly hugs for you, sorry you have so much in your plate xx

NJL go have a nap if you can x

Nmlc meh that's pants :( thieving barstewards

Hugs and spoons all round xx

    Morning all,

Its my lovely dd's Birthday today :bdaycake: 19 years  where did that time go ? going to meet her in town at lunch time and have a nice lunch and then a bit of shopping.

I think I made a mistake going back to work yesterday, the coughing and runny nose have become even worse and I think I have pulled a muscle in my tummy and back from coughing so much its agony every time I cough, also how can the human body make so much snot ? :pits never ending. I shall pop into the pharmacy today to see if they can give me anything.

Dinner tonight will be a takeaway of dd's choice I suspect it will be a chinese which is her favourite.

Right better get on have good days all xx
  • Laura, how did Sammy's application go?

Thanks for asking Hester. Sammy is a trooper! He's had two applications and is unperturbed. I show him the cotton ball with iodine solution on it and let him sniff and then put it on the afflicted leg and he just looks at me as if to say 'How peculiar! But if it makes you happy, mum ...' So presumably it doesn't sting. He's on painkillers for arthritis so maybe that's masking it? I think the next time I have a little cut on my hand - a paper cut or something - I shall dab on a tiny bit and see if it's ouchie.

Finally, I had a long day in hospital in London yesterday and it has been confirmed I will need one but maybe two operations on my brain to fix the problem that has taken 3 and a half years to diagnose.

In some respects I am positive but it has reminded me of all I have lost - namely my beloved Midwifery which I will never get back.

Molly - Obviously I don't know details but it sounds like you've had quite a time of it and aren't finished yet. But it also sounds like Drs have found a solution to whatever medical problem you have and it's fixable (albeit with those operations). I've also lost a career through ill-health and won't get it back so I do feel your pain. I think licking your wounds today is entirely reasonable and hope you feel better tomorrow having done so today :)
njl - Sounds like a busy day, remember to take some time for yourself....No OS today I'm afraid. After work I will come home for a quick spit and polish, get changed and meet friends on the train to Glasgow for a shopping extravaganza - what that really means for us is free fizzy drinks and nibbles!! We will go for a wander around the shops and have a table booked for a meal (with a voucher for 30% off!). Really looking forward to it, it may take my mind off this stupid house business.

I'm going to struggle to find any me time today, Camelot. I have had an extra couple of hours in bed though which were lovely apart from Sam biting my nose 'cause he wanted a cuddle! The cuddle part was good but he has a bad case of fish-breath. However, am feeling more able to cope after the extra sleep and have a couple of bottles of Poison Pepsi to keep me going.

The list now looks like this:

    * Anytime: M comes home (can probably talk on phone and actually see her tomorrow).
    * Anytime this afternoon: Freezer arrives (can plug in today and shift food from M&D's freezer to mine tomorrow).
    * Make kitchen useable again (I seem to have used ever pot I possess which will make cooking lunch interesting).
    * Portion up and freeze the Squash & Sage Risotto I made yesterday.
    * When appropriate tools come out of the dishwasher, make Carrot & Thyme Sauce.
    * If possible, quick tidy round so I'm not embarrassed when the men come with the freezer.

I'd rather do the tidy round first but my feelings are less important than making sure the food doesn't spoil. Best get to it ...
