Budget (£60-100) Smartphone advice please
Options
Hello all
I'm hoping to buy my grandson a smartphone for Christmas, on pay as you go, costing between £60 and £100 absolute maximum.
I'm not great with technology but I have done a bit of research and have narrowed it down to two models:
Nokia Lumia 520 or Huawei Ascend Y300.
They both seem to have pretty good reviews.
Does anybody have any personal experience of these models?
Or does anybody have any other suggestions?
Thank you for your help.

Crikey, thanks Grumbler, the Moto G 8GB is back in stock at Tesco! An absolute steal.
PS Unlock code can now be had for just £2.04!

Agreed.
The Moto G is the bargain of the moment, with performance that belies its low price.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

giffgaff still works on a Tesco mobile though?0
-
Did it ever work?
It uses O2 and works with phones locked to O2.0 -
Apparently Tesco locked mobiles do not work on giffgaff even though they share the same network. But it's only £2.04 to unlock it!0

Ah Ok - just because they both piggy back off O2 doesn't mean a giffgaff sim will work on Tesco Mobile.0

Thank you for this. It's out of stock online at the moment but I will keep checking. If I can use my clubcard vouchers too then that will be even better.
My grandson is with Orange I think so I think I will need to unlock this phone if I manage to get one. I don't think I would be confident doing this myself but I have somebody in mind to try to do this.
Thank you once again for your suggestion.0 -
It seems to come in stock early in the morning, about 6.30 - 7.30am if that helps. No guarantees though lol.0
