Have you got to manually register for online banking with TSB or is it auto?

Do they send out online reg details as part of your first application or have you got to do it all manually (initiate it yourself)?
I know some banks do it as part of the registration & i can't remember what TSB said.
I don't want to lump for registration right now as i remember the great mess i had with Lloyds & they put me on 2 log ins (3 accounts split between 2 log ins), which took me an hours wait in branch for the branch manager to sort out as he was held on the phone for ages & cut off by his own people.
It's that that i'm wanting to avoid. If you all had to initiate your own then i'll do that tomorrow. If you got log in details through the post then i'll hang off.

All banks I've ever used require you to register separately for online access as banking online invariably has additional terms you must agree to first.
(With the exception of online banking only services such as Smile)0 -
You can register here once you have your account details they should send you out your user id to you by letter but I had to ring them up on 0800 0966059 as when I tried to register online it kept saying I was already registered and wouldn't let me complete the form and they sent me my user id and also set up a telephone banking id

My First was online , they sent details by post, cards etc.And Activation code for online banking,( New thing) Second online, 2 days got confirmation, declined cards, then upgraded to Enhance, same as first.
Just done 3rd, and upgraded to Enhance after 10 minutes.
Put £1 in each as a tester, was in within 10 minutes.
Just about to top them all up.
PS; Only 1 A/c every 24 hours
.Lloyds sent my user ID with confirmation e-mail, not by post?0 -
I applied for an account with someone recently & they sent out log in details as part of the application.
Anyway it seems i don't have to request them manually - i got the post through today. Took a little while (i think the first account was opened about 2 weeks ago) but getting there slowly.0 -
I opened a TSB current account a couple of weeks ago. The other day I registered for online access, and it all happened there and then - it asked me there and then for username and password, and then phoned me to get me to enter the 4-digit pin displayed on the screen. So it was fairly painless.0

Well HBOS allowed a 2nd account to be opened online.
TSB it seems, don't. Bit of a nuisance as it means phone call.
Our Lloyds TSB bank in town has also now become just a Lloyds.0 -

You must have missed my posts about applying on line for a TSB account. You need to leave 24 hours between applications. Myself and others have opened another 2 via this route and I have now received my paperwork and debit card for the second and the third is also showing in my account.
See copy below of my previous postings.
Just noticed on the TSB website under Enhance they give you the option to open a second current account. When you click the apply button you have to log in. You are then directed to a secure site where you are only asked a couple of questions about your nationality and employment, no other details show on the page before you click the apply button.
This is the actual page which shows Apply for an additional Classic Account.

But yes, i applied for a TSB account 2 weeks ago, so from what you say, enough time has passed.0 -

Hi
I had this screen too, there is a way around it and i managed to open two accounts online this week online, despite the message, follow the link by the previous poster (typistretired ) select "apply for an additional classic account"
you will then be asked to enter your username and password, but instead of taking you to your accounts it asks for some info about employment and nationality and then lets you apply.
I did this on sunday and my second account was opened by tuesday, and applied for another one wednesday and was opened by the following day, this is despite me getting the screen you have just shown when trying the other way.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0
