But now im thinking that because i didnt disclose it maybe they dont deem me to be trusted. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Whats my chances of appealing if it was this arrest? If i basically say i didnt think that the arrest was on my record?
If it is something else surely they would need to give me details.
If i go for a job that requires SC checks can i apply again? or because of this recent check i cant reapply.0 -

The position was training with a local council working on service desk, computer repairs and working with the applications support.
(The lady said i can still do the training with them but only on the service desk and away from sensitive information. But should an internal job come available i wouldn't be eligible for it. Which is what i was aiming for.)0 -

You still get the job which will help you find another job in the future (even if you're unable to get an SC). Please stop panicking and wait for the vetting agency to get in touch with you. If you don't hear from them soon-ish then get in touch with them. It could be down to something entirely different that you have no idea about. There is no point trying to second guess what the problem is - they have to tell you the problem (if they're able to).0 -
Do you have a brother who is a terrorist, pervert, MP or something similar?0

Yeah your right. I'm really disappointed and hope i can find a solution as the training with the application team they were offering was the area i wish to gain experience within.0 -

funky348, I'd be surprised if the SC failure was due to an arrest and no conviction some 14 years ago.
I passed my MoD top secret clearance a few years ago with an arrest and conviction for fare dodging when I was 20, admittedly about 20 years before my vetting.
On the other hand I heard of a person who failed the check because their cousin had a family friend with suspected IRA connections. But, this was a check done back in the 90s.
Maybe your dad is a criminal mastermind
As said above, you need to ask. But, I'm not sure if you have to be told the reason.0
