I went back to Bluewater today and the M&S there was offering further discounts on sale stuff. I only looked round the men's department, but the Autograph stuff in the sale was so near the door you virtually tripped over it! There really are some very good bargains to be had. Particularly liked the very lightweight cords, which they are giving away and are great for this lousy summer we are having!!
  • Yep, spoke to nice chap at M & S this morning and everything is out of stock. I'm gutted to say the least as I didn't go to the local shop because I hoped most of my online order was coming.

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!M&S ON-LINE "SALE" IS A SHAMBLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Having waited and checked the on-line order for the past 2 days I was more than a little fed up to get a bland e-mail midday telling me that 'a few' of my items were out of stock.

Had to log onto M&S site to find:
    1. the 3 most wanted items had been removed
    2. delivery date had changed drastically (Monday wd be the earliest)
    3. order now in 3 parcels, last delivery almost middle of August!!

When I phoned up, the voice on the other end of the line REFUSED to speak to me because I was not my husband, even though we have a joint credit card and the M&S system has no facility for joint accounts.

Husband had to stop working to phone M&S: In short he cancelled the order.

After a few well chosen words expressing his chagrin with their pathetic CSA he was offered 10% of the order as a gesture... this was quickly upped to £25 before he could do more than splutter. The nice man on the phone pretended to be surprised and claimed that they must have had a problem with their system.

First and last time I will order from M&S on-line.

  • Some of my order is now (apparently) on it's way, but there's no news on the rest of it. I did have an email to say one item wasn't available and keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen with the rest of it. I too didn't go to a store as I'd placed an order online. I really think they need to sort out their ordering process so the same thing doesn't happen again.

    Baby bimbles,
might I suggest that you phone up and gently share your disappointment, spelling out the inconvenience caused by their c**k-up (sorry, their failure) and remind them that every other on-line shop actually tells its customers when something is out of stock.

They appear to be ready will good will gestures, as you will see from my previous post. It does go a small way towards the hassle of trying to buy holiday clothes etc at the last minute!

and surprise surprise I got the email today saying everything has been cancelled    One phone call later and they have obviously had loads of people calling about this as the lady had her reply all ready and practiced!! They have applied a £25 promotion on my account of my next order;) ... to be honest though its not about that, I would much rather have just had the stuff I ordered or at least an email straight away saying it wasn't in stock so I could have gone to a store and bought it!! She said it is a known problem with the online system ... perhaps they want to mention it then when you place an order!!!

I Am Furious. I was told earler this week that all items would be delevered today. Just phoned and was told that all items out of stock and NO CHANCE AT ALL OF GETTING THEM!!!!

over 200 quids worth of stuff that I spent over 2 hours selecting from the intenet on the first day of the sale.... all a waste of time and energy as I won't be getting any of them.

    I am furious

This is no way to treat customers, M&S!!!!!!

Same for me, I'm really upset! I chose a dress that I reallly loved for my daughter to wear on her birthday and now I will be rushing to find something I like as much. I also hate they way I had to ring THEM to find this out.
