Will RoUK really give up some of its financial freedom to the independant Scots?

I loved the recent poll which apparently shows that more English people think Scotland should be independent than do Scots.
What a delicious humiliation for the Salmon if the hated English support him but he is let down by his own people. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just to make the point, if Scotland votes for independence, which it won't, it will have to apply for membership of the EU.
Of course a single country can block membership. That would rather weaken the negotiating position of Scotland with England etc. I also can't imagine that countries with secessionist states like Spain and France would be keen on Scotland joining the EU either.0 -

They said on the Radio this morning (the 'no' vote guy) that without doubt, Scotland would be allowed back into the EU because Spain would want access to Scotland's territorial waters for their fishing fleet. They will come back into the EU after tough negotiations and will be in a much weaker position.
I watched the live debate last night. Loved it.0 -

Up until now, Spanish fishing fleets have never given a monkey's cuss about territorial waters, EEC quotas, or treaties.
Why should they worry about it now?0 -
In essence the document is a massive argument for Devo Max, not independence.
And maybe that's the point. Scots don't suddenly want to fundamentally change who they are, and currently they are very much like the rest of the UK, have similar interests and inclinations.
A reasonably narrow rejection of independence doesn't weaken the case for devolution and it wasn't unlikely that the Scots would get offered further devolutionary powers before the vote in order to discourage them from voting for full independence.
Personally I think great devolution for Scotland, and other parts of the UK, is a good thing. It allows them to remain within the greater union while setting policies and spending priorities in a way that they want.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Perhaps they are running scared of Scotland's Naval fleet enforcing a no-fishing zone?

I was watching Question Time last night and was astonished at the position of the SNP in regard to Sterling. Sturgeon stated that the £ was as much Scotland's as the rest of the UK and they should be allowed to keep it post independence.
Hmnn, I can see the logic of that. So... does this same logic apply to North Sea oil?
Nah, the British £ is theirs and the Scottish Oil is theirs.0 -

I dont know if last nigths audience were specially selected as they wanted independence or just the general view of the Scottish, but if it is a true representation of most of Scotland, then Id happily see them go.0 -
