This 1 seems endless. But it can only be the basics due to such a basic engine.

The plug ought to be wet after repeated priming and failing to start, is it.

Is there a fuel filter at the carb or after the fuel tap, (assuming there is 1 and there usually is given the tank is over the engine).

Remove pipe and check for free flow of fuel.

Then get a new plug, before we all get fed up of suggesting it:D:D:D:D:A

And above all tell us what it was once sorted:beer:

Yes the fuel switch is switched on. I dismantled the carb about 4 days ago and put it back together. It didn't seem to bad althou there was a slight blockage in the screw that went into it which fuel travels through. Since putting it back it seems to be even worse. It was almost starting earlier in the week and there was some igniting of fuel but wouln't start. I did take it apart again with this guy who taught car mechanics or similar at school and put it back again with him. I wouldn't say he's an expert. I'm going to have another look at it later.

Could be a gummed up jet in the carburettor from what you say - did you strip it completely?

No I didn't Stooby. Might have to next time. I took the Carb off again and removed the float and looked for some gunk or whatever. I decided to blow into the 'hole' where the fuel line screws in. No air seemed to go through. I lifted up a metal 'flap' below the float and I could see a pointed object. I blew some more and I heard a 'tinkle' noise on the floor and the needle had been blown out. It was quite a bit of a job to put it back. Before doing so, I sprayed some of that Carb cleaner stuff in. I then blew some more and there was still a lot of difficulty in getting any air to go through. Is that needle kind of thing meant to be so tight? I'm thinking that it must work in conjuntion with the float? I don't know what kind of pressure fuel flows through but it would have to be quite a lot to get past that needle. I put it all back hoping that this may have sorted it out but still the same. But I'm wondering if still that needle need more attention. Sorry if I seem so basic in my understanding. But I find it quite interesting if a little frustrating.

And so do I, which is why I ask again, why haven't you changed the spark plug??

Sorry, I should have said that I did so earlier before dismantling the Carb. Thanks.

The usual issue with carb needles is wear, this gives an over fuelling issue, I'm unsure this is your problem given what has been stated, ;)

I think that you've now introduced a second problem, by taking the carb apart and reassembling it incorrectly. I've seen this before, problem 1 overlapped with problem 2, result - much going round in circles.

I fear the only answer now is to get an expert involved.

Oh, one other suggestion - post your problem on this forum. Someone there might have exactly your type of machine and will have first hand knowledge:
