Decent phone

Can anyone recommend a decent phone for a teenager that will only cost around £10 to £12 a month on contract please? Probably about 300 mins, unlimited texts and 250 - 500mb of data would be ideal. Something that's a little bit trendy (I now probably hard for that price!)
Many thanks

This is an excellent deal with an excellent phone

Plus you can cap Tesco mobile contracts, making it ideal for a teenager.

PS Go through Quidco and get £12.50 cashback too.

That's brilliant thank you - I was going round in circles! I've read a couple of reviews too and it sounds like really good value - looks like it might be the solution! Thank you so much for taking time to reply.

From experience i would say your setting yourself up for a very expensive lesson. 300 mins and 500mb of data is no way enough for a teenager. I had one of these (luckily for 12 months only) and it cost me hundreds in additional mins and data. I have now got her a sim only with 1 GB data and 2000 mins.

With the tesco sims you can cap them so no expensive lessons.

If he runs out of texts/calls he can install viber/whatsapp and use a wifi connection to send a text/make a call but obvioulsy the other person needs to be connected to wifi.

Thank you all. I know it doesn't seem much for a teenager but he uses his ipad for FB etc on an evening. food for thought though...
  • The Moto G for a teenager? Definitely. Superb value. A 24 month contract? Not so much. Imo far better to buy the phone outright and get a 30 day SIM deal (choose one that can be capped of course). It just gives you so much more leeway should the teenager's mobile requirements change (as it is very likely they will over the next 24 months).

One thing about the Tesco contracts is that you can buy an extra 500Gb for £2.50, which might be useful.
