Blooming heck - this is fantastic. This is definitely the deal for my dad - thank you :D

Just keep in mind the company is suspected to have no funding and running Ponzi-scheme, so his number may be at risk.
It's a sort of gamble: if it run for more than 4 months - you won. If not - you loose.
I already won (and I paid just 15, not 20).

No risk - no fun ;-)

The SIM card is a chip in the sense it needs electricity to work - an electronic chip (Integrated circuit).
I know, so are many other cards, electronic components and devices. However, it's the first time I hear a sim card called 'chip'.

As I've already pointed out on here they applied for crowd funding of £300k and was over subscribed to the tune of £400k+ so rumours of no funding are just scare mongering.
It's not just about the money

Is ovivo suitable for someone who doesn't use the internet? I thought if you didn't watch the adverts they might cancel your account.

If your dad has a tmobile phone you could look at White Mobile. They've not been around for long but I've had one of their SIMs for a month and its all worked very smoothly so far. They use EE so I think you should be ok just to put the SIM in the phone.

No, only if you BLOCK adverts. That's something different.
You can use it in dumbphone without any problems. But if you surf the web, you have to allow adverts
